Looks like The Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz to me.

Now you have done it ...

Some of you may want to read-up on this guy.

There's some really interesting and up-lifting stuff about his difficult up-bringing and perseverance.

Looks like a wild-man but really seems like a guy to root for; and will be easy to appreciate on Special Teams.

Signing may indicate that the Rams are serious about up-grading Special Teams, and giving Ray Ventrone a few players that can make a difference. With five draft picks between 205-and-252 overall, I would not be surprised if one or two were selected primarily for what they can do on Teams.

I am guessing Grant Stuard is going to become a fan favorite ... and ... That Hair! ... Come-on!!! ...

Holy shit, fix our CB problem and McSnead spending money on special teams in early free agency on long snapper and coverage ace. It's like Christmas around here! Seriously, this guy is a missile on special teams and a great locker room guy.

Reading through some comments on the Kneecaps board and the consensus seems to be that he was fine on ST’s but replaceable.

I guess they also had him returning kicks, and he was awful.
Im thinking…well yeah.

He was ST captain, so that has to mean something.
But people seem to be ignoring this guy's TRUE hidden value:
He's got experience at fullback

2. Stuard returning kicks
It was actually film from Grant Stuard's college days at Houston playing some fullback that put Fipp onto giving it a try with the linebacker returning kicks.
"You want a guy who's going to be able to last and be durable," Fipp said. "At the time (Sione) Vaki was down early on in training camp, we've had Craig Reynolds back there. Anytime you bring a player in, you kind of watch everything they've done in the history that we have on film. There was some film from him at Houston where he was running the ball, and I was like, 'Wait a minute, like this looks pretty good right here.'
So Fipp and the Lions invested some time with him, teaching him ball security and seeing where it goes. Fipp is excited about the potential.
Stuard is one of the best special teams players in the league and said after Tuesday's practice that for him as a cover man, it's easier to tackle the players who go more east and west than north and south up the field. Stuard is definitely a north/south runner with some speed, power, and ability. He fumbled his opening kickoff return in the preseason but has been solid ever since.

He describes it as a “mad random” deal. He was moved to fullback in his first year (2022) with the Colts and moved around in college and high school.

"My play style is definitely crash out," he said. "Play style is definitely relentless effort. Doing what I have to do to make the plays to help the team win. Whether that's setting up a play for somebody else or making the play myself. Whether that's running through the fullback's face. Whether that's playing fullback if you need me to. Just open to whatever to help the team win."

One of the Rams' 2025 games I still have recorded is their late-season comeback win against the Lions.

I re-watched it, fast-forwarding to the special teams plays because I wanted to focus on #15 (Grant Stuard).

Impressive. Six plays stood-out ... four were on Detroit kick-offs, and two were Rams' punts.

The most impressive was a KO in the mid-2nd-quarter, where Stuard deked Speights and went by him untouched, racing to the returner and drilling him for the tackle.

On another KO, Stuard ran over Speights like he wasn't there ... planted him; and then took on Reeder, knocking him back towards the pile where the returner went down. Still another one, Stuard quickly disengaged from Speights' block to force the returner to his right and into a quick tackle.

On the two Rams' punts, Stuard lined-up inside and took-on a coverage man (Speights on one play, Dolac on the other) as Evans punted. What was So Impressive was that neither Rams' LB was able to disengage from Stuard's blocks for the Entire Play. Stuard was on them for five-plus seconds and more than forty yards.

By-the-way, Speights looked just Awful on special teams.

On Lions' punts, Stuard was the Up-Man but never had to block a Rams' rusher because on none of those punts, did a Rams player come free up-the-middle. Stuard generally ran free down the middle of the field but there were no plays (tackles) to be made.

Very ... VERY ... limited sample size ... But ... Grant Stuard stood-out on Special Teams in that game..

I know I am captain obvious but it is noteworthy to me that two of their 3 outside free agent signings are special teamers.

The two critical areas of concern going into this off season were special teams and the conerbacks.
First order of business - CB coach Pleasant is not retained and our Rams hire a new special teams coaching staff.
Second order of business - Of the 4 outside signings to date two are CB's and two are special team standouts.
