Yeah, we lose an extra 7.25 million for 2021 season. Then we drop off another 10 million the next year. With a contract rework I see us eliminated the 7 million since Stafford wants to win a SB and keeping talent on the team matters.

I'm seeing $13M on Sportrac. If that's true one of our receivers would net most of that. Hav would as well. Trades ahead me thinkin me mateys! Yarrr!!!

I am confused. I thought the point of giving up the two 1st round picks was to gain cap space. Where is the savings?

lol.....how in the world did the Rams get a taker for Goff?

We gave the Lions a 2022 1st and one of our three 3rd rounders this year to take it is how.

I am going from here on that the Rams gave the Lions a 2023 1st round pick for Matthew Stafford! (that's it)

Actually it's $24M better because I just looked earlier today and it showed us $37M over the cap.

So the Lions really did take those guarantees... WOW.
Well, FWIW, sportrac is updated now. Currently lost another 8 mill in cap space we didnt have in the first place

The Rams cannot be absolved of anything the Lions only take on the base salaries each year and the roster bonuses same with us for Stafford. We went from $13 million over the cap to between $33-37 million over the cap (keep in mind most of these show the top 51 right now and it'll be top 53 that matters so add about $1.6 million to what we're in the hole). Get ready to lose more of your favorite players and have no OLine. It will be Ramsey and Donald on defense with a bunch of draft picks there will be nobody else. Congrats Les Mad Mike Snead 2.0 you've done a number that not even that clown could do to the team. And we are being told an extension for Stafford is coming so we can push even more cap in to future years. GG on completely shitting all over this team Snead and McVay.

Hope everybody is happy with shit sandwhiches because you got what you wanted! Well some of you got what you wanted the rest of us got shit on.

I know the Rams already did the math for how to balance this before they did this trade.

I hope we find out soon what we do and I hope it doesn't sting too much.

My biggest hope now is that the Cap doesn't drop as much as they were estimating...

That was an error by spotrac.

We were $27M over and immediately after the trade, it showed Stafford's contract, but didn't show Goff's dead money, so it looked like we were better off than we were.

This deal didn't increase our cap overage by $24M

And even as I was initially against this trade, they org isn't shitting on anyone. They're trying to win.

Feel free to disagree, we do it all the time.

But rest assured, they went through all the scenarios as it seems they were working on Stafford for weeks.

Maybe the Watson stuff was all smoke screen or BS or they really were working on getting him, but Caserio blew it all up. I dunno.

I prefer an FO committed to winning.

Even when we find out what they're doing with the roster, that doesn't mean we know anything. We'll see when the games are played if the plan worked out or not.

I never thought for a second that the cap would drop like the "estimates" were proposing, and even if the cap did drop they would come up with some carry over proposal or cap penalty for being over.
But I wasnt expecting a trade of Goff would make the cap worse and lose picks as well

Neither did I.

Then again, seeing as 2021 looks like I thought it would with Stafford, this is why I thought it was impossible.

I'm backing up into a pure spectator role and leaving the amateur GM stuff to others because much like smart phones to really old people this stuff seems beyond me now.

Honestly, this off-season is gonna feel like when no one knew what a catch was. I think we're all gonna be guessing for awhile...

This looks like a shittier trade than even I have stated in the other thread.

OMG - can we make it even worse somehow
