4th string is several cases
Yep, they now have now lost 9 OL... That is absurd. Only Shelton is back playing of those 9.

Now they have other issues, but nobody wins like that unless your defense is the 85' Bears or 2000 Ravens... and we don't have that.

Reasons for Rams bad season...

#1... Offensive Line.. and nothing else is close. Just a catastrophic number of injuries, it's truly a joke. A shit-ton of bad luck.. but if they don't roll with 10 on the 53 next year, they're just tempting fate, imo.

#2... Is down at least this far.. but I'd say personnel decisions this offseason. I think it's very fair to question spending big on Wagner and Robinson once Von was lost. They would've been much, much better off signing more, mid-level guys than signing the two they did. Really bad decision making in this area, imo.

#3... Mediocre drafting. Some of this is really hard to evaluate.. and distorted by the offensive line situation. Kids that can be serviceable in limited use are being asked to do more than they're capable of. Also.. with someone like Akers... how good/bad is he? I honestly have no idea at all if he's a serviceable back. I say mediocre and not bad because they've used top picks to bring in difference-makers.. and it's worked. But this is what happens when shit starts to go bad.

#4... McVay is having a bad year. He's looked much of the season like he did on the sideline in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Wide-eyed and outmatched. He OF COURSE has earned the right to have a shit season.. but he's got to grow. Games like today.. fucking up when there was still a chance and ending up with that delay penalty.. that shit CANNOT happen. Period. Maybe it is time for him to delegate play calling.. because the TEAM needs more attention/leadership. It may also allow him to be more involved in personnel? Maybe? I'm not sure that would be a good or bad thing, but it's a thought. But, again... he's just been bad this season. Period.

#5... Defense. It was good enough to win games for a good stretch.. but is definitely falling apart. We have the vocal contingent that thinks Morris is the antichrist and that his "soft defense" is the only problem on the team. Well.. no. But, his unit played a poor game today.. and execution was the far bigger problem than scheme. Some of that is on Morris, some of that is on the players. On top of the scheme/execution questions is the reality the this team has serious personnel problems on defense. Shit edge rushers outside of Floyd.. who is just okay (dude plays hard and is a leader, for sure)... The drop-off from Ramsey to the #2 corner is just huge. Huge. Hill is a nice #3 corner who is flexible.. can play the slot and is decent in some zone stuff... but he ain't a full-time starter. Kendrick is a fucking 6th round rookie who runs a 4.7. Long is Long. What the fuck is going on with Rochell?????? Durant??? And Scott is playing about as well as he can.. he's supposed to be one of your weak links.. he's a 7th round draft pick. Rapp is Rapp.

I'll add that the personnel department needs to take a long, hard look at that "we don't need to go to the combine and senior bowl" stuff... I get the concept.. but they ain't hitting enough home runs to feel good about the model.

I think the main reason we are having a bad season has much to do with our won loss record.

I guess?
AShawn was out in second.. Floyd has been playing hurt.. Fuller is out.
Not defending the D.. I just think the suggestion they were going to have to carry the team doesn’t reflect the personnel lost/added plus injury.

The Defense has dissociative identity disorder or (DID) for short. One series of downs they look great and the next they look totally lost and can't tackle.
I do not get it. And the offense is just too beat up to function.

Agree the college personnel dept needs to do some serious self scouting as well.

There were comments made a few weeks ago that the story was that the Ram coaches were afraid to play Atwell because of his size. Didn't anyone meet with him in person before the draft? How does that happen? Makes it seem like they were desperate for speed and last second they just grabbed the fastest guy left on the board.

So maybe not a personnel issue in terms of the scouts, but maybe a HC that overstepped a bit and forced a pick against their own board.

Would really like Raheem to get another gig elsewhere its for the best and I am wishing him well, he did what he had to win us a SB even if it was bought out. This team has lost its identity whether its staff leaving or older players getting older I don’t know, but we definitely don’t have the heart to compete. Its time to start jettisoning our what we call our best players and start fresh. No guarantee we will have the same Donald or Ramsey next season, it sucks but shit changes drastically in a season. We keep McVay, Raheem goes on his way to become an HC lets see if its really McVay or the personnel that has surrounded him all these years…

I'm gonna point out the obvious conflict here..

You say coaches are afraid to play him... but suggest McVay forced the pick.

If Atwell didn't have a second round grade.. there's simply no excuse for picking him.
If Atwell DID have a second round grade.. whoever made that evaluation has some serious explaining to do.

No one is hiring Raheem as HC after this kind of season. How do you think you sell that to a fan base?

My hope is that Hacket gets fired.. Eviro is free and the Rams hire him as DC and make Morris assistant HC.

So how did Staley get a gig without winning a SB?

Atleast Raheem could have that under his belt.

Lol.. because he changed the league when it comes to defense. He was coming off a year creating a #1 defense that no one saw coming.
He was also coming off a winning season.

Sell an HC who's coming from a 5-12 team. Good luck.

Evolving, yes the league evolves which is why change is needed constantly. Even when it comes to scheming whether offensive or defensive, yet I still don’t see how that disqualifies Raheem from getting a HC gig.

5-12??? We can only hope we win 2 more at this rate. Sucks to say that but the O-line is THAT bad.
