It only took 11 games or so to figure out Kendrick is not a good CB
I am of the mind that he would be good in the slot. He's a rook so will make mistakes, but that's where you put guys who lack athleticism.

Yeah I have thought that as well

And if his receiver goes deep, he gets help

Don't give up on rookies and call them not good. Very often comes back to bite you in the ass, from personal experience.

I should have said he doesn't have the capabilities to be a boundary CB

I think I know what you mean.

Like Mike Lombardi calling Jared Goff a 'Bust' after his rookie season. On the Rich Eisen Show, saying he's been in the game for decades, knows QB-play and could tell 'when a quarterback just can't play at this level'.

Eisen then asking 'You can tell that after just seven games?' ... and that Arrogant, STUPID FAT FUCK immediately responded ... 'I could tell after seven passes'.

You mean like that?

That was six years ago; and every time I hear Lombardi's voice, see his face or someone references him, I think ... "Yeah, you know football you STUPID FAT FUCK"

I just think Kendricks is too slow to play a boundary CB without deep help

He could be really good on short passes which is more of a slot CB responsibility.

When I assess a player, I try to look at both the positives and the negatives of the players.

Lots of people I know emphasize one side or the other.

And in preseason people on here said there was no way Karen would take Hendo snaps he wasn’t built for it and Hendo was too good. Again the worst mistake anybody can make is putting a cap on what a player can or can’t do part way through their rookie season. We have a guy coaching DBs for the first time in his career who knows how that has affected the kid.

This entire board wrote off Tutu over a year ago. Looks now like the kid has some ability. Maybe just maybe writing off rookies isn’t the smart play. I seem to remember our GM and others saying judge a draft class after three years. Forgive me for not wanting to do it on Kendrick’s after he’s played 11 games.

Side note this iPad keyboard is my arch nemesis a;d I’d like to sa6 screw you to whomever designed this shit. Leaving the numbers in this b3cause not o;e damned time did I hit an actual number

I agree - I am not writing off Kendricks - I am just stating I believe what his ultimate position is.

Just an FYI - I never discussed Kyren and as to Tutu - always believed he had talent but I am still worried that he is going to get Towel boy hit.

PFF is a joke. Their analysts don't understand American Football. They look at Gaines and because he's not pressuring the QB they mark him down. But it shows their lack of understanding of how schemes are played. Many times his role was to control the A gaps to stop the run. As such his job isn't to penetrate and for that they mark him down. There are a lot of examples like that in all positions. It's why NFL coaches just roll their eyes when it comes to PFF. PFF is strictly for the media people who don't know anymore than PFF but think PFF are experts.

Bobby Brown is going to replace A'Shawn Robinson in the interior DL rotation. When AD retires Gaines will be the primary DT unless they draft another AD. Brown has a long way to go before he's really a starter.

Troy Hill probably stays because he's one of Morris' buddies. IMO it was McVay that finally got Kendrick benched. Kendrick was drafted to be STs and depth, not a starter. He played like a rookie 6th round pick but Morris started him over Rochell who played well before he got hurt.

Coen is leaving, no loss at all. Maybe he can be persuaded to take Morris with him.

Yeah - Mr. PFF as Morris says Stats are for LOSERS!!

The defense played really bad.Fire Morris & take his buddy who had the highest PFF defensive rating Troy Hill with him. Lol-

As far as Turu Atwell goes,he had 25 catches his rookie preseason.Maybe having him as a PR guy was a mistake?
Powell was a nice find & has looked ok as a WR.
—The board in defense is UPSET because of the Offensive Line.I’m righting off Bruss for the 2022 season, but not AJ Arcuri. Then again we’ll not count anything out there with all the movement & changes. This #64 kid seemed not to get listed? Who Knows, but Rob Havienstien CAN’T have such CHIT Games as a team Leader.

Marshall Faulk thought Williams was the best RB fit in the draft for The Rams. I never ever thought D. Henderson was ever going to get cut.
-I said at training camp a Young Rams Fan K.Williams was going to be The Best RB on The Rams 2022. Cam Akers has proven his WEAKNESSES!! Sean Mcvay is doing Everything to sta positive with Cam Akers. Cam made a great catch to help The Rams win.
I could go down the list, but each game is there own thing. The next 4 games are more important for Rookies than any training camp or preseason though.

We all get a true look. The disappointment is The Rams veterans having such poor PFF against the Raiders.

Higbee is on his last leg. Harris got hurt. Old School what about head case HOPKINS at TE? Is TE a BIG WEAKNESS with NOTHING in the CUPBOARD? Is this young Ram who tried to Break Mcvay’s JAW worth anything? In your case is he being counted out to soon?
What about #44 being healthy again after HOLLINS got Vut as Well?

Williams is simply a different kind of RB than Akers and Henderson. Both Akers and Henderson are slashers with the speed to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. Williams is more like Michel in that he's a chain mover. Williams has better field vision than either Akers or Henderson. He also has better anticipation in seeing where holes will develop. Powell is a perimeter RB if they care to transition him to that position. Williams is their inside RB, and Powell can be that perimeter RB.

Tutu was earning the distinction of a bust because his practices were subpar. He had to know it and looks to have finally matured and taken his craft seriously. Now he's becoming the WR that Snead and McVay drafted. The emergence of Skowronek and Tutu has made Robinson expendable. I think they will attempt to move him or keep him for one more year but I doubt he stays beyond 2023.

Kendrick dropped in the draft because he's scheme limited. He's strictly a zone CB and will play best when there is a quality pass rush from the DL. If the pass rush is slow in getting there or the QB unloads the pass quickly Kendrick will probably get toasted. He seems to lack the explosion to react to quick passes. IMO he's best to be used much like a SS in that short zone. I also don't like his effort when it comes to run support or tackling in general. He's going to need to mature and develop before IMO he can be productive (much like Tutu).

Rochell and Durant are true boundary CBs who can play both zone and man coverages but Rochell is best in man. SCB requires a CB with both long speed and quickness and is the most difficult CB position to play. That is why Durant was drafted. He can play SCB or rotate out to the boundary if Ramsey rotates inside. Both were drafted for that role but Morris won't play them that way. That is what I meant by him not playing to his player's strengths.

Rapp had his best game because finally, Morris played to his strengths. Rapp excelled under Phillips, but suddenly is trash under Morris? Then when used properly he has a very strong game again. Proof of what I'm saying about Morris.

This defensive unit proved what I've been saying all season long. When played to its strengths it can dominate. But with Morris that is rare. Look at how many games were lost because Raheem refused to play it that way.

With Greg Olson coming aboard as the new OC it will be interesting how he changes the offense. The offense will remain within the framework of McVay's scheme but I think he will bring his own touch to it, especially in the run game. McVay will remain the play caller, but with Olson in the box, I think his experience will help Sean more so than Coen. IIRC he was the Rams OC in St Louis and successful at it. Whether or not Olson wears the title of OC IMO he will be. If not then I think that will mean Snead doesn't want him exposed to being poached as a HC candidate because he might be looked upon as a possible successor here if McVay decides to leave at some point in the near future. Snead originally hired him this year as a "Special Offensive Assistant".

This team is already beginning to morph, in a good way, in a direction I think is exciting. Unlike other teams, there is a lot of light at the end of his tunnel and we can see it if we care to look.

He really was. Dominated the line of scrimmage and allowed other guys....like Wagner on the critical 3rd and 1 stop....to make plays.
Of all the Rams' pending free agents, Greg Gaines is one I hope the most that the Rams re-sign.

Matt Gay is #2 for me. I'm not considering Mayfield just yet.

Bobby Evans is #4 ... Everyone else is tied for #3.

Forgive the unicorn attachment…don’t know how it got on there, and didn’t know how to get it off either…fat fingered apparently. But…it may be fitting given the fairy tale game Mr Baker had on Thursday.
