I really like @SierraRam suggestion, how about you get positive or negative points depending on where your drafted player is actually drafted. Example, if you drafted your player at 10 and he actually gets drafted at 5 you would receive +5 points, if he gets drafted at 15 you would get -5 points. You would get bonus points for nailing your pick, how much is a good question, +10 points is a nice round number, maybe that number increases for each round? Undrafted players -5 points.

I went back and took a look at last years mock draft and using this point system I ended up with -102, I had 13 draft picks and 4 went undrafted, -20 points, totaling -122 points that averaged out to -9.38 points per pick. Yeah, I sucked.

I don’t know how complicated this would get, it’s just a suggestion.

Yes I have something similar except that I feel you should be rewarded for when your player is picked no matter where, so no negative points just less points. I’ll post something more concrete shortly and see what everyone thinks. (y)

Here's what I had in mind - any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed... I like the thought of lower points and in selection zones to keep it closer. Thought to this is that one pick where there is a differential of 150 places would have far too much weight to it.

Rams On Demand - NFL Draft Competition

If a player you picked is selected ...

51+ places before your pick (ie: player is picked at Pick 6 in the actual draft and you picked him at 57 in the ROD Mock) you receive 12 points

between 41-50 places before your pick 11 points

between 31-40 places before your pick 10 points

between 21-30 places before your pick 9 points

between 11-20 places before your pick 8 points

between 1-9 places before your pick 7 points

by your team at the same selection 6 points

between 1-10 places after your pick 5 points

between 11-20 places after your pick 4 points

between 21-30 places after your pick 3 points

between 31-40 places after your pick 2 points

41+ places after your pick 1 point

Not selected 0

Bonus Points

If your team makes two selections you made 2 points

If your team makes three selections you made 3 points

If your team makes four selections you made 4 points -- etc.

Following the Draft there will be a Total Winner (most points accumulated) and a % Winner (points accumulated divided by how many picks made).

I like that you are rewarding 'steals' and that should definitely be a factor. But for me, if you nail a pick to a team in a specific round there should be a shit ton of points for that. On a sliding scale obviously, as nailing pick one round 1 is totally different to nailing pick one round 5 for example.

1. Arizona Cardinals@OldSchool - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
33. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - N'Keal Harry, WR , Arizona State
46. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame
65. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - Eglton Jenkins, OG, Mississippi State.
103. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - David Long , CB , Michigan
139. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - Oli Udoh , OT , Elon University
174. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - John Comisky, DE, Charleston
179. Arizona Cardinals @OldSchool - Jesse Burkett, C, Stanford

I think I made the Cardinals better with this so far. Improved and gave depth to the OLine. I'm not sure I'd go Murray but it looks like that's the way they'll go. Harry is a good addition and a local guy. Tillery and Long might be day one starters on D as well. Also they have the ever important Mr Irrelevant still to come.

@DVontel how would you feel about this so far?
I like it. Not really a big fan of N’Keal believe it or not, but hopefully he proves me wrong. I love choices for the trenches. I would go TE somewhere between rounds 3 & 5. Class is too stacked to pass on one. Would double down on WR. I think this is a great job, though.

So @jsimcox wins the award narrowly ahead of @ScotsRam and @Corbin .

I shall call it the @DaveFan'51 Award !!

All three of these players had all their selections drafted with 5 of their picks made following the NFL Draft position and 2 selections prior.

@Tron also had all his selections drafted.

Hopefully next year we can get one participant per team.

I received the most points but I also had the most picks.

As a collective we selected 190 / 254.

Some notable picks by the ROD team that went a great deal earlier in the NFL Draft than in the ROD Mock ....

Shit really? I didn’t know we were doing a grade! Lol Maybe this shows I do a little bit about talent evaluation!

@TK42-RAM thank you for doing this and the @DaveFan'51 Award 2019 is a perfect name for this award! Lol Miss him.
