Please watch the Oklahoma game and get back to me. Oklahoma for God sake & the very reason Alabama was not in the CFP.
He had a shit game. He's far from the only QB to have a shit game. He's not a finished product. Thankfully, we still have Stafford. End of the day, there aren't many guys who have tools like Milroe does. If McVay can help him to work through some of his shortcomings, we could have a rich man's Jalen Hurts. If McVay wants the kid, I'm with Sean.

Me too, his accuracy scares me, but if McVay feels he's worthy I am on board. Plus it would be nice to see a Ram QB run like the wind.

He would need to be trained by the same guy who fixed Josh Allen.

Josh Allen his first year could not hit a side of the barn from 10 feet away.

After seeing Josh Allen's first year, I would have sworn he was done as a QB.

McShay said he needs to be told you stay out of the gym.... in other words, he is too muscled up. Needs to get back more flexibility to improve his accuracy.

Which makes the rumor that he loves McCord less likely to be true.
Eww, lots of natural ability and a great tool set but execution has been very concerning. I trust our team but Milroe hasn't inspired me. He seemed to get less as opposed to more out of himself.

If this is the plan, I'm fine with it.

If a team gets him firing on all cylinders, emphasizes his playmaking ability, and minimizes the areas where he struggles, Milroe could be the best QB in this class with his tools and intangibles.

Yeah QB's a position where I don't want to see too much focus on upside. I'd rather have a dude who has some anticipation throws on film and getting through reads with pocket presence than trying to cash in the higher talent level when some of that other stuff is iffy.

But I do trust McVay's eye and instincts. If we reach for a QB, even in round 1, I'm gonna bite my tongue and hope it works out.

That’s an interesting take. I’m good with it also. It helps that I know you generally spend a fair amount of time on QB prospects though I realize you have said you haven’t spent that much time on it with work and all. Nice run on sentence - eh?

I understand that approach, and it's generally how I feel about QBs. But I think that approach makes the most sense for QB needy teams. When you don't have time to sit and develop a QB, you need to find a guy who can grow on the field. We're in a fortunate situation. We have a veteran, Super Bowl winning QB. We can take a shot on upside, if we want.

The Ravens did that with Lamar Jackson, and he's a NFL MVP. The Chiefs did it with Patrick Mahomes, and he's a NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion. The Packers did it with Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers, and it worked well for them. Hell, the Bills did it with Josh Allen, and he's the reigning MVP. I thought for sure Allen would bust.

Now, it's a risky decision. There are a lot more busts than Josh Allens or Lamar Jacksons. But we can afford to swing for the fences.

I've watched some of them, including Milroe. Dart is the one guy I need to sit down and really watch closely. Watching the Florida game as a UF fan gave me a bad impression of him, but it's not fair to judge a QB based on one game.

Milroe is a lottery ticket. I won't be surprised if he busts. But if you hit on the kid, he could be a MVP candidate down the road. He's built like Hurts, but he's faster and has a stronger arm. Hurts was a more polished product coming out due to having more on the field experience and the work he was able to do while on the bench as a junior and with Lincoln Riley in his final year.

He needs a lot of development as a passer and thinker, but he's reportedly a smart kid who works hard. So he has a shot. I think there are a lot of situations where he'll fail. But if McVay thinks he can build an offense around Milroe and develop him, I trust him.

I’ll add that Milroe is a smoother and more elusive runner than Hurts is. Plus he ran a 4.37 40.

I don't think McVay will be happy with a guy who needs so much work in the pass game. Just the way I project these guys under McVay, feels to me like the QB has to have that grasp of shit and processing and ability to win from the pocket. Then if he's got the run ability from there so be it.

This is also why I think Dart is perfect for McVay. He's sudden and athletic in his movement, he can hurt defenses with his legs. Good pocket awareness and makes good decisions under pressure. That stuff's hard to teach.

Dart's a dream scenario at this point though for me, given all these media types mocking him high. I don't think it makes sense for him to go top ten. But since it wouldn't surprise me given how desperate teams are I've been watching a lot of the others quite heavily.

If they really want him, I could see them shipping a #2 next year to move up into the teens.

You may be right. Milroe has a ways to go. Maybe the thirty visit is to explore how much he can absorb and how fast he can do it.

I don't see Dart the way you do though. He's mainly a one read and run QB. He feels pressure and drops his eyes.

For those of you concerned this might actually happen: Tony Pauline today reports he is hearing Milroe to Pittsburgh at 21 a strong possibility. In his mock draft today has the Rams taking jihad Campbell at 26. Wouldn't hate that. He is as plugged in as any of the media talking heads.

That would be a dramatic change in philosophy for the Rams, but I would absolutely love it if they drafted Jihad Campbell.

Opportunity cost though... If Milroe hits and is a franchise QB caliber player, he's worth 4 first round picks. Campbell hits and is a top 3 ILB in the league and is still only worth about a second round pick to most teams. Just something to take into consideration when you're having these conversations.
