Jesting aside, I watched the OL play closely during the game and when Limmer came in he did well at both guard positions. I also watched Shelton closely. He got stood up on the QB sneak play and it was the reason it didn;t work. He also got stood up several times.

JMHO Limmer is a better player. Of course the trade off is Shelton is better at line calls Just wondering how long that will last. Anyone notice who the first guy off the bench or the OL was? If either Avila or Dotson can't go next Sunday, I'm guessing Limmer will start in their place.

I don't understand the grief Limmer gets. He was asked to fill in at the last minute last season and played his ass off. Yeah he missed a block in the playoffs and took a lot of shit and didn't say a word at his demotion. I saw him work hard in TC. they guy is a player. I think he will be a starter sooner than later at either G or C.
I certainly don't hate him. I don't think playing him at guard all camp was good for him if he has to end up being our starting center this season. At guard he sort of looks hesitant to me, but it's not like I'm watching his snaps closely this is just from watching the game.

I would guess that if Limmer were to get the prep and snaps for the week he'd do better. So we'll see. I like both him and Dedich, just wish we wouldn't have fucked around with Lampkin. This interior looked so nice in depth before we lost him.

Overall it just feels like the Rams are a bit stupid with the OL. They seemingly do dumb shit every year and this is not a new thing. This year it was trying to get Lampkin through waivers after he was laying pancakes in preseason. Last season it was let's play Avila at Center and add an OG in FA. That was a clusterfuck. Previous seasons it's been paying Boom, relying on OL coach favorites who can't play for shit, etc. I am of the mind that we lack that true OL expert in the room.

Why they didn't just throw money at Munchak to be their OL coach I have no idea. Nothing against the current dude but I think McVay would be way more lethal if he had a stud OL coach but of course those dudes are worth their weight in gold in this league.

I know it’s a tough sport but it’s genuinely wild how often we get hit with the injury bug every year. Especially when the first 2-3 years of McVays tenure we basically didn’t have a single player get hurt.

No problem. We have Beaux Limmer who can play both positions with one hand tied behind his back.

Dude ? Really !! Are you watching with your binoculars still ?

From my view point which I usually would rewind if I can to see if my eyes are right.

Steve Avila was out for I don’t know how many plays. They kept talking about how banged up Houston’s O”Line was hurt.

I saw Beaux Limmer in at LG & thought OH NO !! He single handly stopped the drive.I think Dotson got hurt the last play of the series?? What I know is Limmer went from LG to RG which was where he played in the preseason.
Quess was at LG. What a difference,& then there was Steve Avila back at LG.
Limmer IMO stinks at LG,and it showed.Quess is the better LG.

Limmer gots ta go.

We are back in the matrix on the next iteration of Demby and Blythe and Noteboom and _________ enter your Olineman as applies.

I think we can probably relax on the Limmer hate. Dude filled in just fine all season last year as a rookie C and was considered a steal in the sixth round, but has since been thrown under the microscope all offseason after he got beat by one of the best DTs in the league when it mattered the most in the playoffs. I think we give him some time to develop on the bench and see what happens.

The problem with the bench is it’s one injury away from getting in live action and getting your QB killed.

I get the young guy development time thing but his pass blocking last year and game 1 this year was not any where approximating serviceable.

There needs to be a higher standard in my opinion.

There is a difference between holding your pass block for a second and complete whiff.

It's not that he got beat. It's the fact that he didn't even try to block him. Twice.

Issues with pass pro was a problem with him last year too, not just line calls

Was hoping he'd take another step forward by camp but if it happens it won't likely be for another year

And that’s why he was a 6th round pick. It’s not likely to find a Puka in every draft. Some people seem to think that every player the Rams draft is going to be a stud now. Here’s the difference - For a sixth round pick, Limmer played very well. For a fifth round pick Puka plays like a top ten pick. Limmer is one dimensional. He's got a long ways to go to reach the level of adoration that some fans give him.

Offensive line depth was a problem going into the season. We are immediately down both starting guards. With LTs (blood clots) and RTs (old and becoming somewhat injury prone) that could be ticking time bombs. Thankfully, we avoided serious injury to Avila and Doctson, though smaller injuries can become lingering and also limit performance, unfortunate to already be dealing with them going into week 2. Tennessee could a tough draw. They gave Denver all they could handle. On the road.

Hopefully Snead can pull another Doctson or Corbett move. Go get a vet that shakes looks for whatever reason and fits our system.
If Snead acquired another Dotson or Corbett right now, where would he play? What would his role be?

I would rest both G's until they are good to go....not 70%.
We have backups that play at that level.....let them heal up.
Secondly, Parkinson was injured and then came back in.
Higbee, Parkingson and Allen all got significant snaps.
Parkingson coming back in after injury tells me Ferguson is not close to playing.
