Interesting, young first timer McVay leans on experienced coaching vets Phillips, Bones and Pleasant to help navigate being a head coach. 3 years later he wants to change the dynamic, bring in some new ideas, go younger.
ahhh they grow up so fast. Now McVay wants to build the staff the way he wants, let’s see how it works.

Maybe looking to much into it, but It is very interesting that both his new Coordinator hires are both former quarterbacks, with emphasis on adjusting quickly and more cerebral in the reactions to both the offensive and defensive formations they are facing, it would seem to be a common factor in determining the hires.

Sean had to get his coordinators quickly. The coaching brass has collegiate talent to evaluate leading up to the draft. Free agency will be happening even sooner. Time to rock & roll with Les and his crew!

Interesting move from GA at UT (Power 5) to DC at DIII school

Bears and Bronco experience a +

Not Brent Venables, Dave Aranda or ...TODD GRANTHAM

HAHAHAHA!:LOL::cool:

Do you really want someone from the Lions staff to be a member of the Rams????

No, I just think it was Matt Patricia who first used the 6-1 against us. Pretty sure but I could be wrong. Chicago got more attention because of their D and the profile of the game, but pretty sure it was Patricia who first used it against us...

You realize of course that one good year as DC under McVay will automatically make him a HC the following year

Probably don’t need to blue font that one. That is the downside of these young up-and-comers.

But, plan for success... and have a succession strategy for the play calling / playbook. Just like, gulp, NE.
