LA has many transplants who rarely get to see their original hometown team, so they show up at Sofi. And LA is a destination travel city. Still, Kronke should take significant steps to make Sofi a home field for his organization. I'm not sure what the best way to do that is, but I'm sure it'll end up costing him significant revenue.

Additionally, the LA area has a lot of people who grew up in LA following other teams when LA did not have a local team. When the Rams returned, a lot of those people continued following the teams they grew up with, instead of jumping on the Rams.

Well, they might not have prepared for the Cards like they preped for the Lions. They did lose to them in a close game in the playoffs and I am sure it was their focus in the offseason. I would call that game a classic trap game. So we will add that to the list with the other things mentioned. Just one more reason they will beat the cards.

The Rams are not the same team that played the Cards earlier.
No, this is not shaping up to be the same kind of matchup for 2 significant reasons:
1) health/lineup changes
2) for defensive players like Verse, Fiske, Davis, Speights and Kinchen, it was only their 2nd professional game!—and not all of them played that day. Curl was in only his 2nd as a Ram.

I don’t see this defense giving up 40 points again. I just hope this game is relevant when it gets here.

Hell of a nice article by Jourdan. Interesting quote by Kupp too:

“When Matthew got (to Los Angeles in 2021), he’s obviously seen everything under the sun and he’s played in every offense,” receiver Cooper Kupp said.

“He’s like the savant of football. He came in here and I remember that first training camp (that summer) … we’re going to go through a blitz pickup walk-through and Matthew’s out there just like bop-bop-bop-bop-bop, getting us in exactly what we wanted to be in.”

Kupp pointed rapidly in different directions as he spoke, imitating Stafford’s movements.

“I remember walking off there and just clapping. I was like, ‘This is what we needed.’ This is like the stress that comes off when you have a quarterback that is able to see things like that.”
Coop just threw Goff under the bus!

lol.

My thought exactly.

Luckily, Goff doing well now. All's well that ends well. Maybe the Lions can finally say they've been to (and maybe even WON) a Super Bowl.

I'd rather see us win our 4th Super Bowl (yes I'm counting the taped Cheatriot steal).

This is so true and I have seen McVay stick with the run on a couple of occasions, against the Patriots several years ago, but concur with this assessment. McVay cannot help himself sometimes, but in this game, run both Williams & Corum like they are ten cent ponies and stick with it throughout the contest.
I like this strategy because it’s the perfect game to try it. Need a 17-16 game plan with the Bills. Can’t get in a shooting match. Also gotta find a dominant run game to make some noise this year. OL is healthiest it’s been all year and KWill/Corum are gassed up and ready to go.

I don't agree with that. The Rams were not worn down from losing to Detroit. The fact is in the Cards game the Ram secondary had NO CLUE!!!

I'm as big a Ram fan as anyone...but FACTS ARE FACTS! I really think after OWNING the Cards for so long, they took them lightly.
Well Tredavious White isn't here getting beat deep anymore, and Fiske and Verse have stopped whiffing when they get to the quarterback. I think we will do a better job containing Murray and that offense.

I can see Fiske, Agent Zero, The Conductor, and Verse breaking through and manhandling a startled Kyler Murray. I see Kyler shaking his head in disbelief and asking, "I thought Aaron Donald retired."

I see Verse grinning at his and responding, "He did! But we are his illegitimate kids!!!"

Does anyone now how the Ram players feel about the home field advantage (or disadvantage)? Does it suck for them? Do they even care?

Its gotta be at least a little disheartening to see how much a home crowd supports the other team when they're on the road. Then coming home and it still feels like a road game.

If you were in Chicago for example and wanted to go to a road game....LA and Vegas, when they play there, would lead the list.
Plus LA is full of disgusting transplants from back east in particular.
No easy or quick fix to the Sofi dilemma.
They lost a whole generation of fans being gone for 21 years. If you're in LA without a team and you start wanting to follow the NFL who are you gonna pick? The St Louis Rams who only had 4 winning seasons in the 21 years? Or the well known teams like Cowboys and Steelers?

Its gonna take time. Maybe a whole generation of time. Not even sure if I'll be around when it happens. The owner would like to see more Rams fans in the seats but his consolation is he's still making bucks on a filled stadium. Our consolation is we can turn the volume down when it gets loud for the other team. Rams players though...

The Rams went from a bottom five team to a top five team in terms of net worth with the move.
A lot of fans pick or were raised as raider fans or chose the Whiners as a CA team.....interestingly the Chargers didn't get many fans drifting to them.

They're use to that "Cadillac atmosphere" of LA. It's been that way since I became a fan back in 1966. I was 12. Later on, while I was in the Navy, stationed at Lemoore, California, the Rams would be on every Sunday and even back then at the Coliseum, the crowds were nonchalant, You just learned to accept it. When the Rams went to St Louis, that's when you had the loud dedicated fans. I would drive up from Memphis for a couple of game a year. It was great!

Now...back in LA, it's back to the "so-so" crowds, with only the dedicated making noise. It's just so much other stuff going on there, folks ain't just football fans...it's one of many interest going on.

Nope...they're far from the team that played the Cards earlier and the secondary is better. To tell the truth, I was stunned by that loss...even with the injuries, I thought the Rams could take it...but when you can't get pressure on mobile QB... your secondary can't cover forever.

It's gonna be interesting this time, because *most likely* the winner of the West will be the only team in the playoffs!
