Tomorrow’s game can be inconsequential if the Rams go 9-0 after the break. All 9 remaining games are NFC games. The Rams may only have two losses right now, but they’re the two games that hurt them the most from the 1rst half.

As for the fucking 49ers, that rematch in Santa Clara is currently the most important game on the schedule. Tie breakers matter when the season winds down. It’s not just about the record.

Wins count too, though, and making a statement tomorrow by putting a beatdown on jax while showing we can play four qtrs of solid football is a good way to wrap up the 1rst half.

Hey, does anyone else shake their head watching any football game where a kicker nails a 40 plus yard FG and ask why couldnt the Rams do that just one more time in each the Eagles & Niners games?
It’s automatic except when the Rams are kicking. I genuinely told my breath every damn time.

They simply don’t trust Hunter in pass protection that is why Rivers will be the backup.
Yuck. Think its a coaching problem if you haven't gotten your fairly highly drafted RB up to speed on the protections by week 7, especially when that rookie outweighs him by like 20lbs and is arguably the most athletic RB we have.

lol......

Its SOP for the Rams to rarely play rookies unless injuries force it and at RB they will not play them unless they have a solid understanding.

I'm looking at this game to be a true statement in that without Puka, I see 3 guys that have to show up big. They are Tutu, Higbeaast, and Whittington!!!

I think the Jags are gonna try and take Adams out of the equation...so McVay has to go to those guys to keep the Jag defense honest, as well as lean on Williams and Corum in the run game. Most of all Ram turnovers cannot be...TAKE CARE OF THE BALL!!!

The Ram defense has to be on point tomorrow!!! Tackle well and bring the pressure...and don't let Lawrence escape the pocket!!!

This game is gonna be tough....both teams 4-2 and wanting to make a statement!!!

I like the Rams 27-20 with the Jags making a late charge but coming up short.

Yeah I’m tired of it too. Meanwhile on the defensive side of the McVay rookie rules, if you can play, you get to play. There have been exceptions but, this sure seems to be the case.

The Rams had to get faster, more explosive and dynamic on O this year. The Rams knew it. We’re 1/3rd into the season and….Tutu has 4 catches, Fergs is still the #4 and the Rams bring up Rivers at the first sign of injuries in the room.

I like Rivers btw, nice vet backup but he’s just another plodder on a team full of em.

Well hopefully we are wrong and he is just there as 3rd string. Also, really think Ferg gets some targets this week since we don't have Puka

The offense is going to feel Puka's loss. None of these guys are anywhere near his caliber across the middle. Adams has alligator arms in that regard. Tutu has small catch radius and can get killed under the safeties. Whit is quick but lacks the physicality like the other two.

Basically in this game we are relying on the TEs to show up big. And by big I mean execution when required to move the chains. They have done it time to time but in that small group of plays where we need it they're going to need to deliver, because that is precisely what Nacua provides.

I'm ready for a lot of punts and a low scoring game with limited opportunities on offense. And hope I'm wrong there.

You just gotta believe, you ole' sourpuss!

College RB’s struggle in this area & it’s one of the reasons they like Williams so much. It might be different if the Rams had a QB that could move in the pocket, but they don’t and hopefully Hunter will improve, but this is one of the reasons they kept Rivers on the PS.

Either coaching is coaching these guys up quickly enough or they're not the smartest players
Agreed. Rookie RBs consistently come in and make big impacts league wide. And that includes in plenty of offenses where the RB needs to pass protect. And players drafted in the later rounds of the draft. Yet somehow, only the Rams consistently feel their rookie RBs are not ready, and these are 3rd and 4th round draft picks!

"No block, No rock". Direct quote from the Rams RB coach.
Personally, I like it. Set a goal for rookies and see how bad they want to achieve it.

Nice move by Sean and the Horns' doctors to keep Puka from hurting himself and the team. I would like to see Puka double down on learning more from Devonte how to protect himself better from physical abuse to further extend his stay in the ultimate professional league.

This could also be a blessing in disguise as it will literally force Matthew to intentionally look for other receivers to step up and replace Puka's volatile production.

I do not know when the Horns will be comfortable with rookie RB Jarquez Hunter and TE Terrance Ferguson playing truly meaningful minutes. Typically, the second half of the season is when talented rookies or other young players become more involved as they become better acquainted with the league's most difficult offensive playbook. Hunter is supposed to be a very intelligent player; so I expect to see him more after the Bye Week. Terrance plays one of the most difficult positions to master so it is harder to judge when he will be become more meaningfully active. However, with the nagging injuries to the veteran TEs, he may be forced to become active faster than originally expected.

His fellow DBs took to nicknaming Emmanuel Forbes "Bully," but at only 180 pounds - up from about 160-165 pounds - that nickname only works for smaller receivers. Emmanuel will need to pack on more muscle and mass to contend successfully with today's big NFL wife outs. Right now, teams are just taking advantage of his smaller mass. He will improve as he gets bigger, but it will help for him to maximize his knowledge and techniques to offset his mass deficiency now. He seems to have budding shutdown capabilities that might be currently masked by weight deficiency at the moment.

Cobie Durant is supposed to be playing for a new contract; single really needs to push for a much stronger second season half of he wishes to remain a Horn.

Joshua Karty needs to master the swing from knuckle ball kickoff specialist to traditional place kicker. He cannot afford to get his techniques confused between the two roles, especially when you are playing on a serious Super Bowl contender.

Re: Forbes I don't think it's about the weight. I think it's about the lack of dog.

Durant is similar. He has his moments but push comes to shove he wilts.

Basically we're a finesse team on both sides of the ball as it pertains to the pass game. If one of these young vets was gonna step up it would have happened by now.
