Rams are shit on short yardage stoppage situations anyway. Can't recall the last time we actually made a stand there. It's not our strength, we're a DL built on quickness and penetration which often comes up short in that situation because you're giving up mass to the opposing OL.

Just keep them out of short yardage. Get your stops at 3+ yards. Put them in a lot of third and longs and a win is possible. Let them run all over the yard on our boys and we're going to lose.

Philly's offense requires the run threat to operate at its winning level. So stop the fucking run on early downs and contain Hurts.

The Rams beat Buffalo in large part because they stuffed princess Allen from scoring from the 1 yard line last season and it was important because they went beyond the 2 minute warning which allowed the Rams to kneel the ball down after they recovered the onside kick. If not for the stop, the Bills had a chance to get the ball back.

The Rams offensive line defending the pass is pretty bad. Shelton is a Little center, no beef that you need for something like that. They just need to make enough time for Stafford to throw. That they can do, so far. May be run blocking is good, so there is that. Go, Rams!

Shelton is not a good run blocker. He has ZERO ability to hold his ground and the idea of him getting a push is a joke. He is a finesse guy that can call the protection and give stafford 2.5 seconds in the pocket. We can`t expect more.

I'm sure the Rams are scheming to stop Jalen Carter from doing what he did in their last game. Lord knows Shelton can't block him 1 on 1. It will be interesting to see what the Rams come up with on both run and pass plays.

How about a DB running behind the pile and trying to punch the ball out?

For that to work, the Rams will need to sign a fast free agent ... Very Fast

So, explain to the Center and Right Guard that it's NOT a good idea for one (the center) to immediately go left, while the other (the right guard) immediately goes right, and neither one blocks any defender ... thereby allowing the Eagles' best defensive player a free run to the veteran QB with little-to-no mobility.

... Because THAT is Exactly what happened on the critical 3rd down play where Higbee was coming free for an easy pitch-and-catch for either a first-and-goal, or the go-ahead touchdown.

How to win this game.

Offense: Run.The.Damn.Ball. The Eagles have played this team with deep shells to prevent the explosive plays. The sorry to mid passing game can be utilized as well. This can play right into the Rams’ hands with a good mindset, which is to run the clock and keep the Eagles offense off the field.

I would hope we can get a halftime lead, and wait for the Eagles to predictably change up their defense, which will allow for the deep shots.

On Defense: Force the Eagles to make Hurts beat us with his arm. He has not thrown the ball consistently well this offseason. I want to see the Rams starting line of V8, Davis, Ford, and Agent 0 make life difficult on Barkley. I also want to see us go with Dolac, Speights, and Landman during early downs as well with one high safety.

Again, make Hurts beat us with the arm.
Again Hurts bread and butter is the Tush Push and taking off on pass plays as soon as he sees a lane. As a passer he has actually regressed. So eliminate the 1-2 yard push plays and shadow him with an LB on passing plays and he will be neutered.

Win on 1rst down. Both sides of the ball.

Both teams are similar on offense in that they have no problem coming out and throwing the ball in an effort to back the defense out of a stacked box.

Consistently putting either of these teams in a 2nd and long is gonna make it tough on an offense to go up against these defenses.

It actually appears that most times the entire offensive line is moving early ahead of the snap so it doesn't appear to be a false start by a single lineman, it's fucking ALL of them. Just fucking call it

The NFL said the Philadelphia Eagles should have been flagged for at least one false start when they used the tush push against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and instructed officials this week to call the controversial play "tight" going forward.

The message from the league, which was first reported by The Washington Post and later confirmed by ESPN, came in its training tape to officials, which was distributed to all 32 teams Wednesday.

The NFL showed the Eagles running the QB sneak on third-and-short late in the fourth quarter for a first down in an eventual 20-17 win in Kansas City.

"Anytime we have this situation we're in short yardage, we know we want to make sure that we officiate these plays -- the offensive team has to be perfect in every aspect," NFL vice president of officiating training and development Ramon George said, according to the Post. "We want to officiate it tight. We want to be black and white and be as tight as we can be when we get into this situation where teams are in the bunch position and we have to officiate them being onsides, movement early.

"Prior to the snap, looks like we have movement by the right guard. We also have movement coming across from the defensive side. This is a very hard play to officiate. I get it."

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after the game that the Eagles "might have had a couple [QB sneak plays] that they got off a little early on," putting further scrutiny on the play. Fox analyst Tom Brady also suggested during the broadcast that Eagles offensive linemen were getting off the line of scrimmage before the snap but weren't penalized.

Philadelphia ran the tush push six times Sunday, gaining four first downs and scoring a touchdown.

"I've heard a million different takes on this thing, and it's driving me nuts," Eagles center Cam Jurgens said Wednesday. "People saying I'm lining up offsides. I'm holding the ball. I can be on the ball. That doesn't make any sense to me.

"At the end of the day, we're not trying to worry about what other teams or people are saying. We're trying to worry about what we're doing in here. If the league wants to come down and say something and make an emphasis with the rules, we're going to take that into account. But it's the same thing going forward, playing Eagle football."

The play faced banishment this offseason, but the proposal failed by two votes. The final vote was 22-10 on the proposal, which was submitted by the Green Bay Packers, at the NFL's annual meeting in Eagan, Minnesota, in May. The proposal needed 24 votes to pass.

The Eagles have converted the play 96.6% of the time in fourth-and-1 scenarios since 2022.

2. We are built to pass the ball. We have two future hall of fame WRs and a potential Hall of fame thrower who is really hot right now. We have a plethora of TE’s playing real well especially Allen and Higbee healthy. We also have Mcvay who is one of the best passing game minds of our generation.
Big praise for Puka. He has the potential but has to stay consistent and you never know how a new qb will affect his production. Holt isn't even in there yet.

Number one defensive goal to win the game? Stop Barkley. Everything else becomes just a little bit easier.
Number one offensive goal start fast and don't let up. The low scoring game is their game.
