Is he the best or was it McDaniel's. Joe Staley says it was McDaniel's.
Guess we will know soon enough the truth.
Well the groupthink will tell you it was McDaniels. That's the way it seems to be trending in the media at least. But I think Shanny is the best OC in this league. And thanks for making me wash my fingers again fucker.

See this is the problem with reporters today. They do zero investigative journalism.
I think the Rams are either no.2 or 3 when it comes to how long the opposing team holds on to the ball. I'll have to find the stat
And this is the problem with media literacy today… people responding and judging from one, out of context tweet.
She very clearly addresses exactly that in her thread.

We cant get home with 4 which has been obvious so we are blitzing and sending 5 yet still not getting home. Not a good formula to contend. And not a good formula for the secondary either.

It's an 8 tweet thread. Stuff people are bringing up are included in it.

Aaron Donald also mentioned a great point in that ball is coming out REAL fast so far in the year, so again, small sample size to this point but bears monitoring over this next month

Also this is just one part of the conversation - defense has done a nice job locking down explosives and stats are gonna be situationally a bit weird this time of year with limited sample size. But bc they added McKinley and aren’t shy in the personnel dept always worth watching

The ball is coming out fast because we are just giving up the first ten yard of coverage. You'd have to be pretty stupid as an OC to not take a free eight to ten yards on every down.:eyeroll:

That goes without question. The dink, dunk and WR screens are a staple of his offense in SF. Its because he has a quarterback he doesn't trust to do anymore. Our defense has to gamble and take away the short stuff. Stop the run and we probably win because it will force Jimmy GQ to throw more. That usually doesn't end well for them. Question is, are they willing to get away from their staple bend don't break defensive philosophy?

I freaking hope so because I'm going to lose it if I see 3rd and 3 and the corner playing 10 yards away. The soft shell defense that the Rams played last year allowed those 17 play drives for TDs with the longest play being 7 yards.

The good thing is that the Rams D has been able to stop the run. I hope that they watched what Denver did to the whiners because it was very effective.

Opposing View: 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan on Bobby Wagner's impact on Rams defense

In the eyes of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan, the addition of linebacker Bobby Wagner gives the Rams another chess piece to work with similar to defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

"They don't change much, it just gives them a few more options," Shanahan told San Francisco reporters Thursday. "Bobby's a middle linebacker who is also a very good pass rusher, so each week they can play him at different positions. It's the same thing they do with Jalen. I mean, Jalen, sometimes he's a corner, sometimes he's a nickel (defensive back), sometimes he's their 3-4 edge backer in a nickel front. They do that with everybody, now they can do it with Bobby."

That versatility has been reflected in Wagner's stat line.

Through the first three games of the season, the 11th-year pro has registered 23 total tackles (two for loss), plus two sacks and three QB hits. He's also helped the Rams post the second-highest run stop win rate in the NFL at 38 percent, according to ESPN analytics.

The Rams don't use Wagner all over the field like Ramsey, but the effect is still similar in terms of how it impacts offensive playcallers.

"They don't put him at corner, but it's just switching people up, testing your rules, all that stuff, which, it's tough when they have those guys how there how to mix it up," Shanahan said.

Snooping 49’er forums (don’t worry I’ve sprayed myself with disinfectant before coming back)…

They do not have a lot of confidence in their offense. They DO believe their defense is playing well.

I liked this guy’s summary:

Originally posted by ComeOnDeberg:
1) The pass protection sucked before Trent got hurt
2) Now it will suck even more
3) Jimmy will hurry his passes and throw into coverage and throw picks, lose more more fumbles, and get smashed more.
4) Our current running backs are Deebo Samuel and Jeff Wilson. Jordan Mason is not on the roster as far Shanahan is concerned.
5) Defenses have figured out Shanahan's Deebo wide back plays which is about 76 % of the plays called.
6) The offensive players from last year, haven't really changed nor the schemes
7) George Kittle can't stay healthy, and when he is in the game he is no longer a receiving threat and this moronic FO couldn't even draft another good tight end.
8) People are in denial about the state of this team. Kyle looks lost out there. Yes, we have injuries, but realistically we should not be able to beat the Rams this week.

The 49’ers are 1-2 and they have had a MUCH easier schedule so far:

I really hope this is true and Ds have shut that crap down.

I do wonder what his stat line would look like if we were to use him on the blindside rush on the key third and long type calls. He's such a unique talent he might be able to come out of a game with multiple sacks plus most of his snaps logged in the secondary.

:wow2:Woah!

Also I really hope we keep appreciating Ashawn. 12 tackles so far, and not in the stats but he's regularly clogging lanes.

The Rams figured out the 9ers run game last season.. it's a matter of execution now and they have the horses to execute in the run game.
The passing game is what worries me more.. but I think they'll give Jimmy G all he can handle.

I've seen some people use that escalator pick to claim it was all 49er fans at the game. They fail to mention Rams fans were still in their seats celebrating while the whiner fans walked out dejected. :laugh4:
