I’d say Ty Simpson is the better QB & watching him go through progressions is impressive.He can also scramble if needed which is an added advantage.
Over the last 60 years, the Rams have drafted a quarterback in the top 100, ten times.

Exactly. The 13th pick was a "luxury" pick. The 29th pick went for Trent McDuffie.

That was a good segment. Talib's take is similar to my own, so from my perspective as someone who thinks Ty's most likely a backup at this level, I think it's a fair take.
Where I differ from Talib is his thinking that Purdy would have put that Bama team at the top of the pile. I think that's absurd. Purdy was a strong collegiate player, and he fits that SF system well. But he's not that QB.
And lastly maybe Simpson fits McVay in the way that Purdy fits Shanahan. Though if that ends up being true, we'll see how far that gets us. Long way to go on this, and I'm rooting for the kid to impress.

Interesting you mention that, in that way. Which is worse. Starting multiple years and never improving mechanics for a coach who many of us don't think much of, or not starting until your final year and that final year having a strong start and fizzled ending.

Brady and Bellicheat couldn't have cheated that team to a title. OL was bad no running game at all and their best WR was MIA the last half of the year.

Talib's mindset is based upon past Alabama teams.
Last year's Alabama team went 11-4 (winning a playoff game) with the 128th ranked rushing attack, 110th ranked OLine, and receiving targets that almost led the nation in dropped passes. Could Burrow do better with that unit? It's possible.
But, my guess is that Simpson would do better too if by some time travel he could have switched places with Burrow and had Clyde Edwards Helaire running for 6.6 ypc while throwing to Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, and Randy Moss's son Thaddeus at TE.
