I'm not sure why folks on this forum are complaining. I love this for two reasons:
1. Simpson looked damn good making the throws that are key to our offense.
2. It tells me that Sean McVay is planning to stick around for the long haul. He picked Stafford's successor.

The fact that Snead played a role in convincing Simpson to declare tells me that they're very high on this kid.

YEAH F” Manning . The Rams also got the QB who at one time in 2025 was better than him.
I’d say Ty Simpson is the better QB & watching him go through progressions is impressive. He can also scramble if needed which is an added advantage.

Over the last 60 years, the Rams have drafted a quarterback in the top 100, ten times.

Beban (1968: #30) Allen
Jaworski (1973: #37) Knox
Weese (1974: #99) Knox
Ferragamo (1977: #91) Knox
Millen (!986: #71) Robinson
Banks (1996: #42) Brooks
Bradford (2010: #1) Spagnuolo
Mannion (2015: #89) Fisher
Goff (2016: #1) Fisher
Simpson (2026: #13) McVay

5 of the 10 were drafted by coaches with defensive backgrounds. Knox took Ferragamo in the 4th. Martz took Fitzpatrick in the 7th round. I like Simpson's chances.

Captain Q makes good points.....

Mahomes >>> Reid / Alex Smith
Love >>>>> LaFleur / Rodgers
Simpson >>>>> McVay / Stafford

"We play 13P a lot. A WR? Not a need"

Weddle.... A stud player who gets right to the point. No hedging. These are the facts......

When smart people say smart things about the Rams, all you need to do is smile.

Another clip with those clowns on what Lake has seen of Simpson.

Talib is really down on Simpson. Claims Burrow would have carried that same Alabama team to the title.

That was a good segment. Talib's take is similar to my own, so from my perspective as someone who thinks Ty's most likely a backup at this level, I think it's a fair take.

Where I differ from Talib is his thinking that Purdy would have put that Bama team at the top of the pile. I think that's absurd. Purdy was a strong collegiate player, and he fits that SF system well. But he's not that QB.

And lastly maybe Simpson fits McVay in the way that Purdy fits Shanahan. Though if that ends up being true, we'll see how far that gets us. Long way to go on this, and I'm rooting for the kid to impress.
