This is the stuff Snead and McVay account for when evaluating a Quarterback. All the top analysts like McShay too.
Your average fans do not account for this stuff, and thus are wrong very often.
Point #2 is extremely glaring.
I'd take Daniels over Simpson. Dude willed his team into the playoffs as a rookie and can sling it. You're entitled to your opinion, but you are way off to me. Injuries will be the only thing that derail the kid but that's any player.Great question.
Little 'o both.
"RG IV"
Cannot fundamentally change the way this Quarterback position is played. From the neck up.
And way too skinny.
I believe that McVay and all coaches want their QBs to be be elite. But, I struggle with the idea that this is a need for McVay.No. McVay doesn't settle at QB. Goff is proof of that.
McVay needs him to be elite. He's going to have a great indoctrination to the NFL too, coming to the Rams as a rook QB and redshirting behind Stafford is winning the fucking lottery. I don't think there's a better situation in this league at this current moment in time, so I have extremely high expectations but of course there's no hurry. Hopefully Stafford has another healthy and MVP level season so the kid gets to chill and build his game before he ends up out there.
Nope. Simpson will be better than RG Thr...I MEAN, Daniels......I'd take Daniels over Simpson. Dude willed his team into the playoffs as a rookie and can sling it. You're entitled to your opinion, but you are way off to me. Injuries will be the only thing that derail the kid but that's any player.
Yeah I'd take a rookie of the year with McVay over a project. However, do you have something against RG3? Did he shit in your cereal? Pretty disingenuous to put Daniels in that same category as RG3 but then again, thats how you are I guess. Daniels to me shows more than RG3 as a QB.Nope. Simpson will be better than RG Thr...I MEAN, Daniels......
Their similarities are that they are both Washington, both 2nd overall picks, both had amazing rookie seasons followed by injury plagued sophomore seasons, and both are skinny-ish running quarterbacks which is not going to cut it in this league. What Daniels did in his first year is awesome. Watch, that will be the best season he ever has.Yeah I'd take a rookie of the year with McVay over a project. Forget it Jake, it's Coliseum Town.Yeah I'd take a rookie of the year with McVay over a project. However, do you have something against RG3? Did he shit in your cereal? Daniels over Simpson is nuts. Dude does not have it. And he is a toothpick.I'd take Daniels over Simpson. Dude willed his team into the playoffs as a rookie and can sling it. Yes, where the head rules the heart. Admittedly, not for everyone......Forget it Jake, it's Coliseum Town.
He doesn't have it and that's nuts? Yeah, I think that more so applies to your statement, its nuts. Daniels actually has proved himself, Simpson hasn't done anything. One was drafted much higher than the other. I wouldn't be surprised if with better protection, Daniels goes off. Unfortunately most QBs will not be productive without protection which is basically what happened to Daniels. The toothpick argument is dumb imo, he just needs to learn to slide or give up on a play. Part of learning the position for him is to figure that part out.Daniels over Simpson is nuts. Dude does not have it. And he is a toothpick.
Only in his own mind is that true, but hey, craziness deserves recognition and celebration too I guess lolForget it Jake, it's Coliseum Town.
Dont worry Chap-y, when Daniels inevitably fizzles out of this League early-ish, you'll always have the "injury" excuse to fall back on. "He was better than (blank), but injuries....." Works like a charm.Only in his own mind is that true, but hey, craziness deserves recognition and celebration too I guess lol
I'm not falling back on anything. Literally said only injuries can derail him like any other player. If that happens, reality is he's fucked no matter the potential. Guess Simpson's nuts are so close in proximity to your face, ya just don't see it. That's ok to have that confidence already, I'm not mad at that at all. I'm not ready to proclaim him as the next best thing, just watching, rooting, and waiting to see what truly goes down.Dont worry Chap-y, when Daniels inevitably fizzles out of this League early-ish, you'll always have the "injury" excuse to fall back on. Right, so Daniels is GREAT, but injuries. Bro, if youre a skinny running Quarterback thats an injury-case you aint great, youre a running back or wide receiver playing out of position. And he's not that good from the pocket either. One Hail Mary does not a career make.I'm not falling back on anything. Literally said only injuries can derail him like any other player. If you think one hail mary made him great, you got Stevie Wonder visionRight, so Daniels is GREAT, but injuries. I don't think anything made him great. He was never great, he was a flash-in-the-pan rookie. His classmates Caleb and Maye both better than him and will both have longer careers than him.If you think one hail mary made him great, you got Stevie Wonder vision![]()
Yep. Calling it a wrap. Injury case going forward. Robert Griffin and Sam Bradford-like. Injury cases are injury cases. If you think one hail mary made him great, you got Stevie Wonder vision..... he's been injury prone for one year, yeah its a wrap .....I think he definitely pissed in your cereal now
Oh ok, I see change the direction of the conversation by including other QBs, got you..... huge difference when you start comparing him to actual NFL QBs that both have shown it on the field vs Simpson who hasn't barely practiced. I stand by saying if you paired Daniels and McVay, he'd be way better than Simpson as Daniels did this with a much less impressive offensive coordinator and defensive minded head coach. Funny thing is we now have that coordinator in Kingsbury on the Rams coaching staff so go figure. Now to Caleb and Maye, I always personally viewed both as extremely top tier QBs coming out and rated higher than Daniels so probably not the argument to make with me if you don't know my opinion about them. I view Daniels as a step below them arm talent wise but to almost have a 70% completion rate as a rookie is damn impressive and something every team would salivate to work with. None of Daniels talent will matter if he doesn't get protection and doesn't learn to take unnecessary hits. This is literally the same conversation being had about Dart who is much bigger than Daniels so there's that too.I don't think anything made him great. He was never great, he was a flash-in-the-pan rookie. His classmates Caleb and Maye both better than him and will both have longer careers than him.
So shouldn't we have said the same on Puka? He gets nicked up so its a wrap right? Daniels dislocated his non throwing elbow landing funny to brace for a sack. Re-aggravated it because his dumb ass coach brought him back too early. No big injuries to stop him from bouncing back but stay making shit up about injury prone. You're very good at this and prove it time and time again. At least you are consistent though so kudos.Yep. Calling it a wrap. Injury case going forward. Robert Griffin and Sam Bradford-like.
