It will be interesting to see the results. I don't see him moving the needle in ATL, but I've been wrong before I'm quite happy about the picks!

Wonder how many coaches are gonna join Morris from our defensive staff. Gonna be interesting to see how that plays out.

I also haven't seen anyone mention that mobile QBs is also a contribor on why so many teams play zone.

I think he needs to hang his hat on that defense. Load that side up and get a game manager QB and pair him with a strong run game.

Rah has good connections with the WCO boys so he should be able to find young positional types from that tree to do that for him.

It's just a darn shame. I thought Aubrey Pleasant had a real shot to become our DC when Raheem was hired out of left field a few years back. Aubrey left for a while and came back, looking for a chance to advance, I am sure.

Aubrey Pleasant might be his DC. That would suck.

Raheem leaves. Wouldn't it be ironic if the new DC makes Kendrick's a star? Two whipping boys gone in one off season. :laugh4:

He'd make a good DC for a year.
He could win another ring with us, and then, when he gets his next HC job, he'll become part of McVay's coaching tree.
Jesus - I hate the idea of this happening but also would probably work out very well!

Those coaching tree graphics things with Belicheat at the bottom of McVay's tree would be hilarious. But there is no way of course that he takes a DC job. He is chasing the total wins so will wait for a HC gig or retire.

Congrats to Rah, I think this loss may exceed the compensation. I hope we build on this D's existing pieces more than rebuild. Usually DC's make personnel changes. I would expect an active FA period and D heavy draft

Coaches coach players play and we didn't have the horses

Absolutely although Rah is been there done that but yes the McVay launching pad
I would be happy with that thought but I was a lot more confident in our ability to stop the other team when it was 3rd and 3 to 3rd and 7

They actually did an okay job imho.

thanks for the links guys... Seems like Falcons fans are looking at the hire in context of Bilicheat.

Plus, if he gets hired to be a head coach in a year, the Rams would get two third round picks for him because he’s a minority.

I know everybody thinks he’s a white guy but I’m pretty sure he’s a hobgoblin. He’s too miserable to be human.

Congrats to Raheem. I certainly had issues with his philosophy on certain things defense. But he's a great man, great coach and going to be absolutely GREAT for that organization.

NOW, give me Jim Leonard, Jimmy Lake, or Evero

Raheem Morris as Falcons Coach

It's pretty hilarious. I don't think I found one person so far that is happy for the hire lol
Yeah honestly... we know the value that Raheem has but I didn't think he would get hired in Atlanta because of being there before.

A lot of people were frustrated with Raheem’s softer coverage in 2022 and 2023. I recall from an Athletic article that he was quoted saying he wanted to be more aggressive on defense this year.

This tells me that he was either too limited by the roster or possibly the head coach. McVay doesn’t like giving up explosive plays. I think it’s why he liked Staley’s concepts so much.

So maybe that frustration with Rahim was a little unwarranted.

I’m looking forward to seeing how he runs his defense in Atlanta.
