This is always an evolving thought process for me and QBs.

Since none of these QBs are great, and drafting them comes with risk, if the Rams really want to draft a developmental QB they should just swing for the fences and pick Milroe. He’s boom or bust. His boom could be great. It may not have a great chance of happening, but is it really more of a gamble than any of the other available QBs?

Or a better plan: why not gamble on skipping QB altogether this year?

Milroe is a swing, his accuracy is scary and I don't know that ever gets fixed, but if he's cool with giving snaps at slash, I think he's worth a look. Apparently was a great interview at combine.

He’s an academic all American. I don’t know what courses he took but if he’s intelligent he at least should be able to learn better footwork and throwing form.

Yeah, I can see that. For a lot of guys though, it ends up being the processing that kills them. Ability to read things pre and post snap and it doesn't necessarily correlate to overall intelligence.

Agreed. It’s processing speed. I have no idea if Milroe has it. I’ve seen indications that Dart doesn’t. It’s why I’m not a big advocate of the Rams picking him.

A first next year is equal to a second round pick this year. So the trade partner would have to add something to the deal. A third or fourth maybe.

It would blow for this draft up not pick until round three but having two firsts next year would be really sweet.

I wonder what the forecast for the 2026 draft looks like. If it’s better than this one, it could be worth it.

Iamaleava
Sellers

Nussmeier
Allar
Klubnik

And there will for sure be a riser amongst the others. Personally love the top 3 as prospects. They all have top end arms and are athletic (especially Manning and Sellers). Guessing Ward would be, at best, 4th QB in next years draft at this moment (obviously, things can and will change).

I’m not sure if that Ram lack of QB talk is true honest or a head fake. Guess we’ll know in 2-3 weeks.

Seems believable tbh. I wouldn't buy it if it was just him saying that he hadn't done that much work on the QBs this year, but when he elaborates as much as he does the lie would almost sound like he's reneging on the comments about his faith in Stafford moving forward.

Or is it that he’s letting others do that diligence? Still a couple weeks out. Maybe he lets them come to him with all the info. Or maybe it’s bullshit to try to throw people off the trail. I know all teams use subterfuge but I have to wonder how successful it is - especially on teams with good scouting departments.

I'd imagine that Pittsburgh will view the Rams as a team who could potentially swoop in front of them in the draft if one of the QBs they covet is on the board. I would.

But I think there's a limit to how high we can climb. From 26 to the top ten would be prohibitive as shit for example. So if McVay does favor a QB in the early going he's going to need to get to a certain range where the Rams are ok with the move up cost. What that would be I have no idea but I'd guess around 15ish.
