That’s great in theory. But does that mean they draft a Christian Ponder type in round 1?

I have a suspicion that Dart goes to Vegas. Either way it is starting to feel like he won't make it to us at 26. And if he does I still prefer we go TE provided it is there. Or CB or OT or maybe even a safety.

If they take Sanders I'll be disappointed. The problem with him is he inherited Deion's ego but not his ability and I don't think it's going to work well for him in the NFL. If they want an athlete with an iffy arm they can take the Ohio St kid much later.

I prefer looking at next years QBs over this years. I don’t see much potential there and think they will just waste a pick on another Stetson Bennett type.

Hopefully they can sign Jimmy G and won’t waste their time.

I pretty much agree but hear me out, but I think there are unlikely scenarios that are worth considering.

Some people on here like Dart, I don't see it, but let's say the unlikely scenario is he is available at the bottom of the 3rd, I'd consider taking him there and certainly from the 4th on.

I'm intrigued by Shedeur but probably only in the 2nd round with a trade back and you're betting that there's a lot you couldn't see from him in that putrid CO offense.

I don't love anyone in this class and feels like there are a lot of caveats to any of them having success but now that Stafford is locked up, having one of these guys sitting behind him for a year is a plus. Still not sure any are worth doing that in this class. The price needs to be right.

Yeah, the window is open again. They should probably use their picks the first two days to enhance the roster. They got it wrong with Bennet but it doesn't mean they should not try again on day 3. They do need to think about who Stafford's replacement will be. We got lucky a guy his caliber was available via trade. I doubt another opportunity will come up again.

If this is an "all in year," wasting a high pick on a project QB doesn't help us maximize Stafford THIS year.

I wouldn't mind seeing us take a late round flier this year on a guy with tools, I just haven't done enough research to say who that guy is. That being said if we can continue to get the amount of immediate contributors we did late in the draft last year that might be a waste of a pick.

Well, maybe so, but I think they really value the importance of having a prospect sit and learn from Stafford and how he goes about his business. It's like trying to maximize an investment into a kid and giving him and them an advantage in speeding up the development of a young QB.

Obviously they have to like a guy, but maybe they look at it as if they do like a kid, him being around Stafford and waitibg & watching, makes that player better and prevents them from having to mortgage future picks on a QB.

See Jordan Love and for that matter Aaron Rodgers. Late first rd picks who sat and watched a great vet and how he approached and prepared each week for his job.

I agree but needs to be a guy who has the physical and mental tools to even attempt the special things Stafford can do and I'm not sure that guy is in this draft

Yeah, fuck giving up mid round picks every couple years on a Stetson type and hoping you hit. When it's time (not quite yet imo) you gotta go big.

Hopefully Stafford has been clear with the team about when he's planning to retire.

Ideal scenario is you pick a guy early in the draft next year who then sits a year, giving you 2 more years of Stafford total.

I'm starting to be convinced that Tyler Shough is the guy that McVay wants in this offense. But, I'm also starting to be convinced that he goes higher then most of us suspect.

I’m going off the assumption that Dart and any other QB with potential will go in round 1. I could see a team like the Seahawks taking Jalen Milroe in round one. I think Ewers and Dart are gone by 26.

I mean, QB inflation is a thing for sure...

I would feel comfortable putting money that Milroe and Ewers don't go in the 1st round, less money on them not going in 2nd but still have a hard time seeing that. I think they're day three picks in a normal draft and not necessarily high ones.

Dart... I waver on. All it takes is one team.

But I think he's most likely a 4th round or possibly 3rd round pick in a decent QB draft.

I think Dart normally would be an early second round pick. Milroe should be a fourth. But Anthony Richardson went number five based on athletic profile. Milton is very similar to Richardson athletically. I think he goes round 1 and with the Seahawks coach coming from the Ravens he could be dreaming of Lamar 2.0 in Seattle.

If Rams are drafting a QB my preference
If Day 1- Dart
If Day 2- Milroe
If Day 3- Shough

If Richardson went first round milroe definitely going first … les said he wanted a qb that can run if milroe there at 26 he might be a ram

I don’t see it. Stafford has 2 years left most likely. They are even more in win now mode. I expect them to make a couple of big moves this off-season to get offensive weapons and use the draft to fill whatever holes are left.
