If that's all he could give, then I would agree.A couple of plays a game is not worth it, compared to a starting CB for example. You know how long it takes a TE to get caught up to the NFL game.
But, this kid would automatically be the best blocking TE on the team and if used properly could be a major matchup problem for defenses to contend with thus again opening up things for others. That value is FAR MORE than just a couple plays here or there.
This selection wouldn't preclude the team still getting a starting CB later. But, how many significant matchup problems can be had later?
Timetable to get caught up to NFL game? Depends upon the player. But, to be worthy of the selection, Sadiq would be more of a H-Back / FB / WR initially, IMO. That Jet sweep they tried with Ferguson? That works with Sadiq.
