I read that for every 100,000 hours of flying that only 6.8 hours have any kind of emergency at all.I know statistically its safer flying than driving. But dang, after hearing there's been an increase last year in near misses, I think I'd rather take my chances driving.

It's actually pretty common for military and commercial aircraft to share runways. When they built the international airport in Charleston South Carolina they just built a terminal and use the Air Force Base runwaysI'm no expert... But, WTH is a Blackhawk doing flying around the flight path of an active runway?? Who thought that was a good idea??
