Green Bay Packers at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 p.m. on CBS

———

Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles; we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and each other.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

Stop the run and run the ball. Hope McVay goes back to more 12 personnel.

Not expecting a win with the secondary we have. It will be nice to see our starting CBs back but still….

Regardless, if we upset them and pull one out… 24 hour rule and take advantage of the early bye.

Very nervous for this one, we cannot stop the run right now, and Green Bay's running attack is no joke. Jacobs is having a monster year. His yards are just not high because he has had countless huge runs negated by penalty. And he is thus far not been getting TDs, so the league is not paying attention.

Still, the Packers are good, but not unbeatable. This is a must win game. We need to pull off the upset. 2-3 going into the bye is pretty good, considering all of the injuries we have had. 2-3 keeps the season very much alive. 1-4? Some might consider the season dead at that point. I am not sure I'd go that far, as when healthy I do think this team can compete with almost anyone, but it would definitely be on life support.

I have the alcohol ready if this gets ugly.

Looking for improvement in that secondary first and foremost. And better efficiency in the redzone by the offense.

The first should be helped by DWill returning, and hopefully safeties starting to settle in. The second will require ground game balance. We gotta run the ball well today.

I am just hoping for an exciting game overall. Can McVay outcoach LeFleur? Yes, but will he? Not sure., if McVay rotates players and uses runs we may have a chance, but its all dependent on his playcalling

Countless huge runs sounds a tad overstated...lol... and were they negated by holding penalties or what ? I don't recall any big runs pulled back by bogus/irrelevant calls in the GB vs MINN game that I just watched, but I wasn't looking for it, either. If it's something unrelated to creating the run, you have a point, but surely not for holding, among other advantage-creating shenanigans ?

I do know GB has 10 offensive holding calls already & the league average is 5.63 (nflpenalties.com). Whether that's in pass pro or runblocking, I don't know, but they are a grabby bunch.

You might be a Packers fan if you have more guns than teeth.
You might be a Packers fan if you think the stock market has a fence around it.
You might be a Packers fan if Thanksgiving would be ruined if you ran out of cheese curds.

Watson and Dobbs doubtful for Green Bay, that will help the secondary.
I believe the team suspended Dobbs this game for conduct detrimental to the team. I don't know how much of a loss it will be for those two. Watson has 5 catches in 4 games. Dobbs has 12. Love has not been that sharp so far. But he will be going against one of the worst, if not the worst defense in the league. Hopefully the defense has learned some things the first 4 games. We will see.

I was surprised to see that I get the game on TV today. Almost never happens when we play at the same time as the whiners.
Fuck the packers!
GO RAMS!

If we can somewhat contain the run, limit big plays over top, and get TuTu at least 8 targets - I think we can stretch the field enough to win this game.
