I see a lot of people saying there aren’t any holes to fill as starters so that opens up the draft to BPA.

After seeing Big Rob go and Jackson’s medical situation, I’d be happy to see more invested to protect Stafford.

I really haven’t put any time into this other than looking at on line rankings. Is 13 too high for Fano? Initial thought is he could play either spot and be a future starter.

Just for discussion explain to me why a backup OT would be a better choice in the 1st round than say an ILB like Styles or one of the WR?

I don’t think they have a legit backup, let alone someone who might step in if Alaric can’t play.

With the changes they’ve made on defense, I don’t see ILB as a high priority, that wasn’t really a problem with Landman and Speights. They really don’t run that base as much as nickle or dime packages.

I’m not opposed to a blue chip WR but if Stafford isn’t healthy is WR2b going to make a difference?

A WR absolutely will make a difference. How many games did Puka and Davantae miss?

I get the need for a backup OT but we're going to take a backup OT in the 1st instead of a WR when our starters are a UDFA and a 5th rounder? Yes Puka was also a 5th but Adams was not.

Personally the thing that would help Stafford the most is the #1 defense and a guy like Sonny Styles if there could give us that. We already had the #1 offense with a wet floor cone as the backup OT. There are plenty of OT's available day 2 and 3 that could be just fine as a backup. There are also some vets that would be cheap out there as backups.

I think that of the four FA OL next year, McClendon would be the easiest to extend now. A guy that could play G and T could be the play with those FAs next year and the uncertainty.

I feel pretty confident that our first three picks will be WR, OL and ILB in whatever order. That gives us the perfect blend of needs this year and for the future.

If Styles is there, I'm taking him no question. With him this defense would be better than Seattle's IMO

There isn’t anyone available that I would trust to protect the franchise. Or to be a long term solution.

But a rookie who gets little to no snaps will be ready if Alaric goes down week 1? Most all the 1st round tackles are RT or guys a lot around here would prefer to move to Guard

There are some FA WRs who might be a good WR3. Bourne??

Brazzell from Tennessee looks interesting but might be gone before our 2nd rounder.

If Fano is gone there aren’t many others in the first two rounds. And I think we’re due to see some backups playing in 2026 on the oline.

Bourne is gone and costs more money than a vet swing tackle.

I'm not against an OT now that we have solidified the CB room. I just don't see the value in a backup unless they don't see one of our starters as a long term solution and even then I think guys like Tiernan, Parker, Zuhn, Wagner, Barber, Bell, Harker even Leigh are just as good of options at OT.

Also for free agents I'll take Josh Jones from Seattle.

Had not seen Bourne signed, not sure there is anyone else I’d take over a rookie.

Jones is listed as RT, I love Alaric but his medical issue scares me most. McClendon was impressive and looked ready to claim RT hopefully for the next 8-10 years.

Jones has snaps on both side that's not an issue with him. I brought up those issues with Jackson and didn't hear the end of it for weeks :D

Alaric has been a great find and an inspiration, rock solid when he’s there but, I’m with you. When does it bite us in the butt?

Because Styles won't be there at 13, and there's a ton of good WRs available this year.

Oh, by the way - I think the Rams will take the highest ranked player on their board, so I don't really think they will target any particular position.
I just think OL needs a good young player.

The Rams need depth on the O-Line. I don't see a backup OT as the Rams #1 pick. I won't totally dismiss the possibility of a player who can fill in at OT and OG with big upside. I look at the Rams' forecasting players they see as already taken before #13. I don't see Love making near their pick. They will have a short list of players they would pull the trigger on. It allows them to trade down and still get a player they value. WR, seems like the logical need.

There is a big hole to fill at WR2.
And there is a need to improve at ILB for pass coverage. Then I agree OL/DL depth makes sense. Trade down a bit from R1.13 and you can address all 4 in the top 100 draft picks.

Did you mean WR3? Puka and Adams are 1 & 2. Whittington, Mumpfield and Smith are back and have produced. Is Ferguson going to progress enough to be a weapon requiring a big chunk of the targets this year?

Although I wouldn’t mind seeing someone to be groomed to replace Adams in 27, would McVay change his tendency to not play rookies?

ILB is not something the Rams have coveted and I don’t expect that to happen this year, especially not in the first round.

Chances of Styles being available for us at 13 I'd place at about 1%, essentially, no chance at all. We'd run to the podium if he was, as he is one of the few true blue chip players in this draft. He would make and immense difference for us.
