Bottom line is there are about 4-6 spots these guys are competing to earn.

Guys I think could be replaced:

Mason, Quick, Bailey (if he can't play)
Roberson, Bryant, Davis

A lot of bodies to compete for very few spots. That's a good thing.

Anyone else bothered by us signing no DTs? Who will be our DT depth? Worthington and Westbrooks or Coples? I figured Westbrooks and Coples would be playing DE.

Yes I am worried. When I did my 53 man roster analysis, I listed Westbrook and Trinca-Pasat as backup DT. Depending on how things work out I could see Coples and Sims getting snaps at DT if they do not pick up a veteran off waivers.

Isn't this a better question to ask in August? No one has to be cut until then.

There is a 90 man limit in the off season. Look at all the cuts happening NOW throughout the league for conformation. After the draft we had 77 players on the roster. Adding 19 UDFA puts us at 96 not counting the 3 tryouts. So we need to make 6-9 cuts soon. Practice squad players and maybe Watts and the lineman we picked late last year due to injuries are the most likely to be cut. But there could be some surprises.

Quick needs to go. He is not going to get it and we can't afford to waste a spot on him purely based of "potential" and draft status.

I understand the frustration with Quick, but 2 seasons ago he actually looked like a really good receiver before he got a very serious shoulder injury. Last season was disappointing (again) but we don't know whether he was fully recovered. Where he was picked is irrelevant now. He is on a fairly cheap "prove it" deal, so good luck to him in battling for a roster place against some intriguing looking young talent. If he earns it - great, if not - I'm rooting for the guy that takes his spot.

I agree and actually gave Quick a mulligan for last year. It wasn't fair to judge him off that injury when it was a miracle he's even playing football.

I'm judging him on the season before when he was getting it together - but not quickly enough. So he's got a year to prove it to me.

Ayone got an update on Baileys condition? How's he doing? Hope he's better.

I think this is the key to remember since it's not like free agency has stopped now, there's a whole final wave of vets that will become available. So I'm not too worried about our DT need since it's so specific -- just need a fat guy gap stuffer to be available on goal line/short yardage situations. The run-stopping specialist DT has become one of the lowest regarded around the league apparently, so we should be able to find a wide body before the season start. As long as we don't foolishly squander cap space on redundancies like HeHateMe or Hitner or whatever that idiot calls himself. The free safety hole is much bigger in my mind right now than a gap-plugging DT since ballhawking FS's don't usually become available, usually they are old/overpriced/primadonna/lost-a-step safeties that get cut. Which I really hope we don't try to plug in to our free safety need. So I'm more disappointed that hasn't been addressed yet than backup DT, crossing my fingers C.Bryant or a young guy can flip on the switch and become a playmaker back there.

I think North and Spruce could make this team. Really depends on how highly they value Marquez' ST play and how Stedman's rehab is going.

Question: If Bailey isn't ready, could the Rams keep him with a non-football related injured reserve and would that count against them? Even if he never plays again, it seems like something the Rams would do just to pay him and keep him on insurance? Or is that already automatic while he as a non-football injury?

Hey Rams fans, first time poster here. I went to Rams games as a kid beginning in 1968, then drifted away from the team when Georgia Frontiere did her thing. So glad to see them back in Los Angeles.

Anyway, here's the roster with a count of 90: http://www.therams.com/team/roster.html
The Alaskan long-snapper is not on it. Who else is missing?
That I have noticed, besides LS Jeff Overbaugh, WR's Duke Williams and Jimmy Worton, who where Rumored to have been picked. Are not on the Roster yet!;)
