Well from the basic leadership side of things if you're the owner and you allowed the GM to make the pick you basically approved the pick. So no need to distance yourself from it. Generally speaking you're better off saying something along the lines of "I'm the owner, buck stops here." It's kind of like when you're in the military and you fucking hate what the HMFIC has you doing but you have to pretend you're behind it to ensure morale is aligned.

And that doesn't stop him from firing said GM if he's pissed off about him making that pick and/or it becomes a catastrophe. Let people read between the lines.

The Rams are one of the most well run organizations in all of sports. Look at the way Dotson talks about the team. Look at the way Davante Adams talks about the team. Look at the way Kyren Williams contract extension happened. No media bs, no holdouts, he showed up to camp, the deal got done, everyone was happy. It's a treat to root for this team. They deserve another ring!
