Hey…it could be worse…

We could be the Bengals, who added La’el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras to fix their OL, and have now given up 13 sacks in 2 games.

He's only been with us for a week, but I'd also consider the possibility of bringing up the new guy, Oday Aboushi.
Rams were forced to bring up Kolone last week from the PS after the injury to Allen, I would consider elevating OG Chandler Brewer due to his knowledge of the McVay offense. If there is another injury @ OG he can be plugged in @ either OG post.

Might recall that LG David Edwards was selected to start @ LT against the Vikings the last yr due to injuries @ LT would expect that to be the case next week if there were an issue. Brewer saw the majority of snaps @ LG in preseason.

Bobby Evans had zero snaps in preseason @ the OG posts after the previous two seasons' work performed @ OG. So I do not figure he is in any real consideration as the swing OG. Center Jeremiah Kolone knows the offense so he might be considered before Aboushi.

Once Aboushi gets familiar with the offense blocking schemes he is sure to get a call-up.

Can not find anything other than it was an ankle, not his knee. Rams Swing OT Alaric Jackson moved in @ RG & had a very good game.

Anchrum went down very fast when the ball was snapped, as he tried to make the block. I did not see any hit or rolling up on the lower left leg. He was grasping his left knee @ first when he went down.

Another injury for Anchrum...not looking good for him. Anchrum suffered an ankle injury during the Rams' second 2021 preseason contest & ended up on the IR last season.

Maybe he injured it on that first run play. Did you look at that play as well?

DE Jack Youngblood played in the Rams playoffs & SB with a left fractured fibula.

Depending on how bad the fracture, is or where it is at we might see Tremayne Achrum return late this season if he is needed.

I think this is a testament to how offensive lines need time together to gel, and also how important blocking schemes are - a player might excel in one blocking scheme but not in another.

Those players that the Bengals brought in are all capable players. Perhaps some are overpaid, or others on the decline now, but all range from decent to very good.... it must be disappointing to see such a huge investment in the o-line not pay off. But it is early. If the Bengals o-line ever become an elite unit like they were expecting, the NFL might be in trouble, and will have one more heavy weight to add to the fray. Burrow with those WRs and Mixon at running back will be hard to stop behind an elite offensive line. Glad almost all of the top contenders appear to be in the AFC.

So can either Brewer or Kolone play center? Because with Anchrum out looks like we don't have a backup center until Allen comes back.

Kolone stands as our current back-up Center and is now on the 53, Brewer had a few pre-season snaps at Center, although that might be pushing his abilities which seem more suited to reserve OT and OG. Brewer enters free agency following this season, so pretty difficult to see what plans the Rams have in mind for him, if any, going forward. jmo.

Kolone can play center, did it all preseason and is the reason he's on the roster.
