This is Hurts second trip to the Super Bowl in 5 seasons but so many fans say that teams can't win with running QBs.
With a very, very specific team build and, perhaps, the most talented roster in the NFL right now.

But.. I think the whole "running QB" discussion is pretty muddled. Who's even a "running QB" anymore? Besides Hurts?

Only part of it.

Opposing defences couldn't stop Barkley. And the refs turned a blind eye to lots of Eagles holding.
The turnovers were the biggest part of it.
The Rams didn't stop them, but they slowed them down plenty.

I'm irritated because the chance to go to the Super Bowl isn't one that comes around every year. Two.. three plays and the Rams are hosting Washington.. and I feel pretty certain they would've taken them.

Damnit.

In fairness… He is the only one over the last 5 seasons.

Quarterbacks who played in the last five Super Bowls:

1. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)
2. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)
3. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)
4. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)
5. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)
6. Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
7. Jimmy Garoppolo (San Francisco 49ers)

But given that there isn't that many of them 2 of the last 5 Super Bowls seem pretty good to me.

Hard to explain and it might not make sense, but I consider Mahomes & Allen as passers who can run, but Hurts a runner who can pass.
not hard to explain at all
but with all 3, the RPO is a staple of the offense.... more for Mahomes and Hurts than Allen tho

Which is why I said it's so muddled.

The real discussion is, in this era, can you draft a QB who can't get yards with his legs at times?

All 4 QBs in the Conference Championships can, with regularity.

Man! We would have beaten the Washington Team and been in the superbowl right now if Stafford had found Higbee! We were so close to our third show in just a few short years

Nah, the dual threat is nearly mandatory now. Just make sure that your QB is pass first.

One of a few things that would have put us in the SB. Dotson or Limmer picking up Carter. Throwing to Higbee. Dotson not false starting. Stafford throwing the ball in bounds and at least giving Puka a shot at catching or getting PI, etc, etc. Simply put, we should have won that game. Easy win if it was in SoFi or just not snow.

Stafford could not find Higbee because Carter was on top of him before Higbee broke free.

Carter got there so fast because neither Limmer, nor Dotson even tried to block him. Each thought the other guy was going to take Carter; and the Eagles' best defensive player was un-blocked.

One thing the playoffs reinforces to me is I want a fucking overpowering defense. Elite, dominating, fear inducing defense.
