Yeah Lake to me needs to be in the box abusing an RB I don't like seeing him in coverage. Kurl and Kinchens while not great are much better in coverage than Lake.

I really hope Forbes comes out swinging next week, I didn't expect him to play this week, because we could really use it.
I disagree.

IMO, Lake would be best actually playing deep safety and not used as the nickel so often. But, they have no choice due to a lack of other options worth a darn that will tackle.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Williams today. He was several yards behind his WR on at least one of the TD's and out of position on a couple big passes. But we can discuss that elsewhere since this is the celebration thread :D

edit

LOL OH SHIT

This is the right thread hahaha
Heard an interview on a Bills radio station where the Bill announcer stated that they were targeting Williams.

Couple of flags were pretty ticky tacky against the Rams. Makes me wonder if the refs were supposed to let the Bills win?

I don't have enough time to list all the bad calls I saw.
Agree 100%. The forum would be livid if the Rams had lost. I certainly felt that there was obvious Bills bias in the game. And it seems that some QBs are protected much more than others, Allen being one of them. He's a tank as a runner, and gets ticky tacky calls often.

Rams D is very young with many rookies playing key roles. Often this late in the season, rookies (as well as second year players) start to tire getting used to the longer grind that an NFL season has on their bodies. It certainly feels to me that this is part of the challenge facing them right now.

Steve Smith cracks me up, but unfortunately, he is right! I rewatched the game and it was brutal

Same. Those corners are.... A liability. Smith basically called them a bunch of window lickers in that clip ^^. Brutal, but funny.

I hate to say it but he isn't wrong. This defense could be pretty good if we have some guys who can cover a receiver. A little late to do anything about it this year. But next year it should be a top priority if they want to be a legit Superbowl contender.

After watching last nights game, do you guys think Witherspoon should take over for KD? I know it's a small sample size but Witherspoon looks better as the starter. He has better length and seems to be better in man coverage. I'm also not sure if KD makes the plays Witherspoon did on both Deboohoo and Jennings.

Forbes is next year only but I’d like to see him get some action this year to see his skills. I’m in Commodes territory and all their fans say he is afraid to tackle and gets easily outmuscled by big WRs (like AJ Brown PHI) in man coverage but he is long, quick, rangy and effective in zone coverage. Hes also only 23 I believe.

For the remainder of this year the Rams have DWill, KD and Spoon. None are physical shutdown corners and all struggle at times but as a tandem they can be effective and have shined at times.

I'll just say the Shitters didn't gameplan for him specifically and also he knows their offense. As teams gameplan for him he will struggle because he's inconsistent. Don't want to knock the dude but we know who he is.

That aside it was nice to see him play well in a game we needed him. And it's nice to have options. When Durant returns we'll have 4 corners. None of them are the CB1 we need, but we have a good rush and the competition might help them.

As I see it the secondary is coming into their own. They're tackling better and playing the pass better. Opportunistic guys are definitely Kinchens and D-Will. Curl is coming on as well as Durant, before he got injured. This ain't a great secondary but they were really good last night! Hopefully with more to come.

I guess I am a bigger spoon supporter than most and less of a Durant supporter than most.

We definitely need an upgrade but Spoon does seem like he makes more plays and has better coverage then Durant, at Least to me.

Curl, Lake and Kinchens all are up and down players that are average.

However Kinchens is young and has great instincts to pair with nice hands , so he might improve to a higher level player.

I think if we had that #1 CB the safety’s would look much better.

PSU safety Kevin Winston is declaring for the draft. He's 6'-2" 202 lbs. He had a first round grade but has a tear in his acl I wonder how far it will drop him. He was the leader of the secondary and has a high football IQ. I wonder how far he drops. Maybe he ends up being the answer for Lake or even Curl.

One of my favorite moments of this last Niners game was when the defensive line surrounded Purdy and he was boxed in, so he tried to jump to escape.

I think we're being a little too hard on the Ram secondary. Starting the year, they had their issues...but as of right now the secondary is in the middle of the pack when it comes to pass defense in YPG. I believe in the 49er game, they had the most passes defended this year.

Folks love the INT...the Rams have 11 picks for the year so far...that ain't bad either! I don't think their great, but they aren't as bad as this thread is on them.

Shut out Rodgers in the 2nd half. Blanked that blankety-blank!

While watching Good Morning Football just now Peter Schrager said that it was assistant coach Aubrey Pleasant jabbering back and forth with Rodgers during that series. I wasn't sure who because the coach's back was turned with all of that layered stuff on, but I didn't really think Shula was like that. He seems the calmer type. Wonder what the back and forth exchange with Pleasant actually was about. Schrags said something about "irrelevant." Might've been stemming from Pleasant's time in Detroit.
Aubrey: "You washed up bruh!"
Aaron: "Calm down man." Holds hand up slashing sideways near his chin.
