Defense has been slowly improving as the season goes on. But its a young defense still learning. A game like last night should not be unexpected. They were clearly overmatched by a legit Superbowl caliber team. They will learn from it. They aren't a good defense. They aren't a bad defense.
They will have the occasional game where they look really bad. You gotta expect that from a team so young. They will also have occasional games where they look really good. Perhaps what they learned from last night will help them in a couple weeks against a team that is clearly better.
This.
I am losing patience with the offense, rapidly.
The defense held Detroit to 20 points in regulation.
Held Miami (fully healthy) to 23 - their lowest output in the past four weeks, which includes games against the Cardinals and Bills.
Held the Packers to 24 AND scored a TD.
They've only had a few really bad games - Cardinals, Bears (bc of the opponent), and now Eagles.
Considering the financial investment in the offense and our vet players, at full health we should have beaten the Lions, Packers and Dolphins - we basically were close to healthy against the Lions and Dolphins. So that is very frustrating.
Our defense has been good enough for us to be 8-3 right now.
