Barkley is 1 guy
They don’t win without Jalen Carter or many other players.
Key contributor? Hell yeah. But do they win without him?
Well, if Philly held KC to 20 points in the SB 2 years prior, they win that game too
And Barkley did shit in the SB win
Team game, they won because of the sum of their parts
Obviously Barkley can't hike the ball to himself. That's about as far as your argument has merit here. Love yuh man but this is an odd hill on which to plant your flag.

With a healthy Kupp, we likely win the 2018 season SB. Without him, in no way do we win the 2021 SB. Yet it is still a team game.

There is a reason elite players get paid elite money. By your premise, everyone on the team would make elite money.

I think you guys are comparing apples against oranges.

If the Eagles don't have 1 of the following 2 players, they don't win:

Barkley

or

Carter

It's a team game but those 2 players put the Eagles over the top of the Rams.

They were that critical in that game.
And I'd be OK with someone saying the Beagles don't win the SB without Carter or even one or two others. The question is centered around whether obtaining a certain player or type of player puts a team over the top to win the SB. Of course you need a really good team to even get there and there will be key players that make it happen. The Rams are a SB quality team. Is there a player that would put them over the top? No one knows for sure. But if you had a RB doing what Barkley can do, I think most would agree that we would be pretty unstoppable as a team.

Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean were other massive reasons they won against us; they snuffed out our receivers for the most part. Their O-line was elite as well (which aided Barkley; when your worst lineman was Isaac Seumalo, and you have two likely HOFers on that line in Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson, your running back better show out), and A.J. Brown had a monster day against us.

It wasn't just Barkley or Carter; it was a team game for the Eagles.

Are you seriously under the impression that we are discussing and rating Saquon Barkley based on the "one game against us," and not the 21 games in totality of the 2024 season for the Eagles, which ended in a Super Bowl victory?

Adams is old. Puka is injury prone and though I wouldn't panic about the off-field stuff there is enough there to have seeds of doubt starting to linger. WR is even more of a need now than it was a few weeks ago. I firmly want the BPA available at pick 13 if we don't trade back. But we need another WR badly. All things being equal, I'd go that route. But really I just want to best player available. You can get good players at all points of the draft. See: Puka.

Agree, that all things being equal, WR is the biggest "need" in this Draft. I'd be happy with Lemon, Tyson or Cooper. If we could trade down and accomplish this all the better.

Oh I agree but I am saying if Barkley or Carter missed the game - we would have won.

Seumalo hasn't played for Philly in years.

Yes, Barkley and the OL was the reason they won. In 25' they still had Hurts, Smith & Brown. They still had a top 5 defense. Still had quality STs. They didn't have a great run blocking line and Barkley was not as explosive.

There were numerous times this year where I saw him break the LOS, and get tackled by one guy or get tackled from behind. Something you didn't see in 24'. He lost a little juice, which is normal when RBs get over 400 touches in a season. The next year they historically have fallen off. Don't be surprised if McCaffrey isn't as productive this year.

Tried to go off Google as to whom was on the line. If not Seumalo, it was Becton. Apologies for making that mistake.

Carter didn't do anything special in the game. He was unblocked on that 3rd down sack at the end of the game. Any player would have done the same thing. Then to make it worse, he was unblocked on the 4th down play.

Maybe if Limmer wasn't playing in that game the Rams would have won.
