Young isn't chopped Brown either....12 sacks last year lead the team.
I am interested to see if it helps free up Turner and the other down lineman.
Young faced less double teams by far than Verse. Sack numbers alone don't explain that away. It tells me teams feared Verse more. If Young was much better, there wouldn't be a 2nd 1st round pick that needed to be involved if he were the one traded. Young thrived due to the attention Verse got. Luckily he'll get to thrive with Garrett now although I feel Verse would have made a better duo with Garrett. Oh well, either way the trade is done and the Rams are ultimately better for it.

Holy fuck I spend a day traveling to Japan and the Rams do this while I’m traveling????

Anyway, bittersweet. I hate losing Verse and his infectious attitude and still think there is a lot of upside there. And not thrilled by giving up another first although it will probably be a low first.

But damn, Garrett is an improvement over Verse and a serious impact player. With the improvement in our secondary this offseason and now a big improvement in our pass rush, our D is going to be fucking LIT!!!

LFG!!!!

You know, I bet Simpson gets a little taste of playing time this year. We are going to destroy the bottom teams we face this year. At least a few blow outs.
So...... we are up by 4 TDs with 5 minutes to go. Why send the MVP out there where he can get hurt ?
The Rams are going to be downright scary.

Been watching him for the last 5 years as a Browns fan. Dude was doubled constantly, sometimes tripled. They’d chip, keep in their tight ends, pretty much everything from him getting to the qb and he still set the record. The last few games last year teams, didn’t want the record against them and completely schemed around him. It was wild. Cincinnati were having Burrow take 3 step drops and getting rid of it.

He is going to make your other guys get lots of opportunities too. Unfortunately in Cleveland he was on the field constantly because the offense sucks so bad, so usually by 4th quarter he would be gassed. I’ll be very curious what he will do when he doesn’t have to be on the field the whole game. As much as I hate to see him go in Cleveland, I’ll enjoy seeing him succeed, and will also be very very curious about how having an offense will impact his performance.
Definitely excited to see what he can do on this line working off our DTs. I think he will enable Fiske to have his first double digit sack year this year. But Garrett in my eyes is pretty much a lock for 15 sacks given our team and the leads we'll have.

I hope you guys appreciate and take care of Verse. He's a rare competitor and all around good player who will be a great leader. Should only keep getting better.

And everyone has their own opinion so I’m not gonna let your challenge slip by without a response. I do believe Verse has all the tools to be a superstar. Is he at the level of Garrett right now ? Obviously not. But he’s two years into the NFL with a Defensive Rookie of the year and two Pro Bowl appearances in his coffers and that trajectory simply can’t be diminished. So that’s my take and it’s simply not changing because you differ in your assessment.

I WANT you to respond.

After all, we are not Communists....

There is simply no evidence at this point that Verse is an up and coming Superstar. That is, if "superstar" means Garrett, Crosby, Watt.

He might make Star. That would be Trey Hendrickson, Aidan Tomlinson, Nick Bosa level.

He COULD make superstar still, but lets not say it like its a given. Not by any means.

Dood, go eat some insane food and get off this $%@# board!!

Been reading our rivals comments on their forums. Roles are reversed. Now Seahawks fans are the delusional ones and 49ers fans are realistic.

Seahawks fans think Darnold will burn the Rams for 30 plus points in both games. Darnold had a great game against arguably the worst corners in the league. What does it tell you when in the Superbowl his team told him to just take care of the ball and let the defense win it?

49er fans are realistic now. They know an already tough road to the division just got that much harder.

Schwarz lined him up all over the place and he was very effective.

I did notice Seahawks fans are suddenly insufferable out there.

They need a rough hangover season.
