Apparently we suck at drafting in the first-round...

Its kinda hard to know whether or not a team sucks at first round drafting when they haven't had any till the Verse pick. Which is widely considered to be a good pick. And no one can say they aren't good at picking after the first round. Kyren, Puka, Kobie, McClendon, Young, Kinchens, Avila, Lake, Fiske, Corum, Ferguson. There are some high quality starters in that list.

Also, I don’t know how Fiske feels. He and Verse are best friends.

Maybe we’ll have to select an interior pass rusher in the next two years after he goes to the Browns?

To say that it came totally out of left field would be an understatement. But really glad now that he is with you all after being on such a win and lose team alternatively.
Mainly the latter than the former. Hope you all now have a SB team and even much more better at home come 2/14/2027!

Before the trade Rams were slight favorites to win the Superbowl. +750 to Seattle's +850. Now Fan Dual has them at +550 to Buffalo's +1000 and Seattle's +1100. Oddsmakers sure think the trade makes the favorite even more of a favorite.

Regarding Breer's comments: if you gave me the choice of AJ Brown or Myles Garrett I would prefer Garrett. But then I am of the mind that more offense is not going to be as valuable to our title chances as more defense. Our boys getting off the field quickly means more Stafford and company controlling the ball and the clock. It means more hero moments for the offense and our future HoF QB.

There's no doubt that we could use more explosiveness on offense. But dominant defense has some of the same effects in terms of grinding down opponents. During the '99 season nobody gave our defense any love outside the fan base, but that unit was extremely proficient at getting off the field early in games and subjecting opponents to more Warner and company.

From here on the key for us is going to be health because this team is stacked.

Seattle hawks forum running the emotional spectrum... somewhere between it won't matter, I hate them, we're better anyway... and desperate.

Hard to believe we couldn’t have outbid them. That’s likely due to them packaging Verse in the deal (which makes it a little less painful for us)

I assume they are the undisputed favorites now. That will make it all the sweeter when we knock them out of the playoffs.

Rams are legit going all in this year. I hope this becomes a huge flop

I have been told several times that I'm crazy and I'm just a Rams hater. My point has been proven about the Rams, yet again. There is NO WAY they are not cheating the system.

I'm not gonna' sit here and claim that this doesn't make the Rams a lot better. This is ridiculous. How in the world can they afford this crap? And somehow, they'll be able to afford a massive contract for POOka.

Yeah, Verse is legit. Trading away younger talent for older talent seems a bit desperate --- but it will pay off at least this year.

Yeah, Verse is pretty damn good. It certainly helps, but geezus man. Like THAT team needs another beast?

They mortgaged their future in a 25 year-old Jared Verse for a 30 year-old Myles Garrett. They’re likely to get 4 to 5 years tops out of Garrett.

They are clearly shooting for a two year window, with Stafford and McVay, before having to rebuild the team from scratch

If that’s not desperation, I don’t know what is

Did Seattle get Garrett?
No.

Did Seattle really even have a chance?
No, not without making stupid moves.

Does Seattle still have their 1st round picks in 2027 and 2028, and all 12 picks in 2027?
Sweet cayenne pepper molasses, YES!

I'd mortgage the future too if I had two decent years of a franchise left.

It's honestly fine. We just won the SB, and it's in the books for good. This is them lamenting that they missed a golden opportunity so they're going all in for one this year (and they still have to run the gauntlet and do it). Take a look at Spotrac...their roster construction for 2027 doesn't look so good. We're much better set up for longer term success even if they're the favorite this year.

I prefer what Schneider is doing, building for long-term competitiveness, but if I had the Rams situation, I’d be making the desperation move too. Pay the piper in three to four years, and shoot your shot now.

Two different philosophies, and it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top in the long run

I have no worries about Mike knowing how to scheme Myles. None at all.

Gonna be nice when we mud stomp these fuckers

Appears Poona is changing his number to 97 so Myles can have 95.

Now what the heck am I going to do with my new Poona Ford Jersey?
Welcome to the club.....at least the player jersey you have is still on the team.....fuck I'm still mad I got that sweet Verse rivalry jersey in my closet :laugh4:

Pretty insightful. I guess you can tell they're 1-year-wonder fans trying to soak up all they can from it.

"Clearly"? I beg to differ. You and I've gone over this before. AD saved the game. Ramsey, as he had at the beginning of that drive, was on the precipice of blowing the game. As for the falling down, that was something he had begun to do on the regular and continued to do after leaving LA.
Oh Ramsey had one bad play in that game and had a few bad plays the following year but not on that play.

Seattle has to have one of the most ignorant fan bases in football. They have some incredible fans of course, the ones who go back to the Largent days and the AFC and all that. But they definitely have a large contingent of bandwagon jackasses.

One of my favorite things to do in a bar is banter with fans of different teams. Seattle fans are usually pretty fun to engage. :laugh2:
