For me, if I am relying on one QB to do something special to win a game, between Bulger and Goff, I'm going with Bulger, imo.
Based on the 2018 NFC championship - down 13-0 early, on the road, Gurley gimpy and no Kupp, not much running game, and yet still bringing them back to win - I go with Goff. It amazes me that people act like that never happened or try to rationalize it away.

Bulger never did anything comparable, and in the best chance he had to get to a Super Bowl (2003), he choked in the first round of the playoffs, after choking home field advantage the game before in the regular season finale.

Goff also went toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes in the greatest Monday night game ever and it was he - not Patrick - who landed the decisive blow.

Goff > Bulger all day long.

We are in the dead part of a lost season. Our Super Bowl winning QB is on IR and his injuries are concerning. After watching Perkins and Wolfy stink up the season, it makes you long to see the Stafford to Kupp connection from last year, again. Simply replacing Stafford with a warm body who can throw a little bit, isn't that easy to do with any success. Kurt Warner and Matthew Stafford have proven they had/have "IT". For me, "IT" is that rising to the moment, ability, on the biggest stage. Both proved it by winning a Super Bowl and no other Rams QB was able to do it. Both had help. Stafford had Kupp and Warner had Bruce, Holt and Faulk, but even so, the teams would have lost Super Bowl 34 and 56 without them. For these reasons, I have Warner and Stafford as number one and number two on my rankings. Those below them could be disputed in the order for which I placed them. I tried to place them in their prime. Everett may be a surprise for some, but I remember how much promise he had and the trades needed to land him on the team, well before the Phantom Sack and the "Chrissy" Everett moment with Jim Rome.

1. Kurt Warner
2. Matthew Stafford
3. Jim Everett
4. Roman Gabriel
5. Marc Bulger

The Rest
6. Vince Ferragamo
7. Jared Goff
8. Pat Haden
1. Stafford. That playoff run was HoF level, mostly him.

2. Warner. Still amazed by the storyline.

3. Ferragamo. Tough as nails, my kind of QB, so painful he didn't get that ring.

4. Gabriel. Underrated as hell, didn't have good enough pieces.

5. Goff. His 2018 season puts him here.

Can't believe you had Bulger that high you dirty Bulgerite bastid. :laugh4:

I had Kurt over Stafford, only because he led the Rams to two Super Bowls, and he really won that Super Bowl for the Cards except the Card defense couldn't make a stop when it mattered vs the Stillers. I just think Matthew needs to win another tp overtake the top spot.

You know you love you some Bulg(er)

Interesting that Bulger and Goff's passing statistics for their first five seasons in the league are almost identical. Also those two, along with Warner, are in the top 25 all time for highest passer rating for a QB's first five seasons.

For the current complaining about Wolford and Perkins it's worth remembering what Bulger brought coming off the bench. (and what Jamie Martin and Chris Chandler didn't). From Warner to Green to Burger, we had three backup QBs who developed into Pro Bowl passers.

Is that your worst Ram QB list?
No, just my list of silly names and colorful characters and lost causes.

Worst QB's? I'd have to think for a while on that one, but Tony Banks would be at the top. That guy was great at coming up big only in garbage time. Drove me nuts watching him play.

Dieter Brock would be up there as well. That one pass to Brown that would have gone for a TD might have changed the complexion of the game against Chicago.

After the Merger? Is that to intentionally keep off Van Brocklin, who holds the record for most passing yards in a game, and Waterfield? The history of the Rams goes back to 1946, not the merger. Why cut their history in half?

Both these guys belong on "Best Rams QB's ever, were good enough to play today and better than Everrett, Gabriel and Bulger.
