You got to go with the BPA. :)
Unless it's a toss up and then you go with the WR.

I guess my question is, do you double up? We’re in a position where we don’t truly NEED one of those positions, but it would make us stronger. Do you double up and have rotational pieces/depth? Or do you go elsewhere?

Just curious on the thoughts. We’re in a very unique position

My thinking is;
(and I only pay half ass attention to the college players that are coming out, because I just can't have time)
You set up a potential trade down deal for a couple of second and third rounders if the players you are looking for are still available. But I happen to think you're always one injury away from needing one of those players. The only position we're really deep at is running back and tight end. Any other position could help and hopefully provide an upgrade at depth and rotation like a DE/Edge or a WR.
"Call me Captain Obvious". ;)
Just looking forward to the draft like everybody here.

We rarely take any offensive lineman in the first three rounds but I wouldn't cry if they did.

I read this draft is deep in edge, and we could use a improvement at rotational OLB.

A inside linebacker that could cover?
Sounds good, absolutely.
But they don't grow on trees.
Early OL isn't that rare for them. There have been four under McSnead: NB, Evans, Bruss, and Avila.

I'm hoping they get an ILB that can cover. There's some decent ones in the first 3 rounds this year. But I agree, this edge class is deep.

To have a flawless roster (within reason), while prepping for potential losses in FA next year we need five things IMO:

Backup QB - either Jimmy or Kirk

T - drafted day 1/2

G/C - drafted day 1/2

WR - drafted day 1/2

ILB - drafted day 1/2

So a trade back at 13 to pick up an extra day two pick, and then there are players at all these positions at most of what those pick points would be.

But we do have only one early offensive line player out of five presently starting.
And a lot of draft misses.

I would say that our offensive line is usually made out of late round picks we developed, or udfas we developed, or mid round picks we got lucky on or players we poached from other teams.
Sort of like we have now. Lol.
I would be very surprised if they used a high draft pick, (meaning a first second or third) on an offensive lineman.

Wow, I'm the opposite. I'd be surprised if they don't take OL with a premium pick.

The current makeup of the OL with late-round development picks isn't for want of trying to get premium talent. They've just missed.

Im drafting WR with that 13th pic, unless all the guys I would want are gone.
2nd round Im going CB. The Rams are thin, although massively improved, at CB. I would end up drafting two CBs this draft. One with the 2nd round pick and one later on.
The mid round picks Im looking for OL depth, all spots esp C and T, ILB.
They don't really have mid-round picks, just a 3rd rounder until the 6th. They need an O-Lineman, especially tackle with the 2nd or 3rd round pick. I'd even like a good coverage LB over a CB.

Just take Sadiq. He'll enable Mcay to terrorize the league for a couple years with multiple different 12 and 13 personnel packages, or using him as an H back, etc. His speed will be matched vs LBs and safeties and also open things up for Puka & Adams. He'll be the BPA most likely at 13 and taking means he WON'T be taken by another NFC contender.

I keep forgetting they don't have a fourth or fifth.
That sort of changes things for sure.
A CB or swing T could certain be a high need pic as well.
Rams are thin at T depth and are thin at CB outside of our new top two.
