Pat Benatar is my favorite female vocalist.
One of the best vocalists, regardless of sex, that Ive ever seen live.
Power, control, pitch, range and just the right amount of grit when she wants it.
A true master.

Definitely agreed on Amy Winehouse. I know it was a short mention, but she had that sultry, husky, crooning voice that just...spoke to my soul. Gone far too soon.

Jill Janus of Huntress was incredible when she sang. Heavy metal? Sure, but she was a pioneer in that regard.

And as for Jill Janus (also gone too soon), here's a song of hers:

EDIT:

Will also add Nell Smith, a seventeen-year-old girl with a unique, angelic voice who collaborated with The Flaming Lips. Gone far, far too soon in a car accident. This is a cover of Nick Cave's Red Right Hand:

A couple that I really admire that might not be listed yet are
Kate Bush and Joanna Newsom.

And how big a turn on is Kate Pearson? :)
