Back to draft need..
I still would place OT above G or C in the draft. Jackson, Noteboom and Avila can all move, if necessary.

Drafting a C/G guy wouldn’t be bad.. I think they have C only types on PS.

Only did a quick 3 rounder, but this draft goes a long way towards improving the defense and is pretty realistic IMO. I think Sweat goes a long way towards helping fill the void left by AD. He is a much more nimble guy then his size suggests.

I'd hope for the best, but I would be disappointed with that draft class after the 1st round.

I'm a bigger is better guy, but IMO, that 2nd round selection needs to be someone who can be on the field and perform effectively for at least 80-90% of the snaps. Not a potential 2 down player with weight issues. That would be a luxury for a team with so many needs.

I would have to know that Cooper Kupp is done, and that Javon Baker is clearly the BPA to be happy with that 3rd selection. And I'd hope that any CB the Rams select would be big and/or physical enough to help keep Debo Samuels from running through our secondary.

But again, I'd hope for the best.

He and Nix IMO start being targets for the Raiders in the 2nd unless somebody trades ahead of that spot.
I wouldn't until the 3rd unless you get a late 2nd in a trade down.

I want pass rush, whether it's edge, DT, or a special LB talent like Cooper.

I wasn't saying for us, don't want either of them.

Mock Draft, IF the Rams were to obtain another veteran CB

1. Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA

2. Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

3. Austin Booker, EDGE, Kansas State

3. Tykee Smith, STAR, Georgia

Here I've got base nickel defense where both Cooper (w/ Earnest Jones) and Smith stay on the field 90+ percent of the time as the former has the speed to run with anyone and the latter plays the run better than some LBs. Booker is added to the rotation to keep them fresh and even allows for Latu to move inside during some obvious passing situations and embarrass guards from time to time like he did in college.

The DLine? Kobie takes Donald's spot (Desjuan Johnson subs), Brown III is at NT, and the remaining spot and depth can be filled by day three selections (like Bama's Eboigde) and vet free agents.

The team plays a 3-4 defense in which Donald, while a great player, was a luxury. But while Donald's are hard to find, solid (they don't have to be great) interior DLinemen are much easier to locate, and you can build a successful defense with a good coordinator. Especially, if the offense is putting up a buttload of points.

The more I look, the more I see E. Cooper as an elite talent. We gotta get this guy...

E.Cooper is a beast, I agree. I wonder if he could bulk up a bit and play the edge, a la Parsons. At off ball linebacker, he did tally 8 sacks and its not like he got them against terrible competition, 3 sacks against Alabama alone..

I wonder how far Dallas Turner could drop? Id be very happy if they moved up a bit and got him.
That’s what my thought was as well. He’d be a great pick.

Overall, I can see the Rams trading up for their guy (regardless of position), as long as it was after the top ten. To move into the top ten? Possibly Turner.

Ya, it's wonky. I just restart it every time I see Chicago take Alt...or Bowers...or MHJR...you get the idea. And of course, the trades are ridiculous. But I'm bored.
Yeah, but you did this without any of those ridiculous trades.
Nice work.
