How are they gonna get the niner stink offa him?
I get the impulse to hate anything from SF, but I doubt there is much to Singletary's involvement other than Fisher just giving him a figurehead spot so he can keep "consulting" active on his resume. Plus Singletary never bought into the fake Whiner image crap or the wuss coast offense crap and is so universally hated by the Whiner crowd that I'd argue he has no stink on him. Completely different situation than the awful Jeff Garcia hire a year ago, he was a complete Niner/wuss coast Turd that was not just worthless but actually harmful to the team. Singletary is harmless or even has potential to contribute something.

This is a super- yawner to me...How many coaches, consultants, assistant position coaches, etc. do they really need ???QUOTE]

I think you make a valid point.
Only thing I could offer is that sometimes players respond differently to various teaching/coaching methods, and the more varied approaches you have from different coaches and their personalities, the more you can tap possible potential. I totally trust Fisher's ability as a head coach, which imo is different than agreeing with his offensive philosophy, (which I don't hate, but don't love either).

He still has Niner stink that has to be scrubbed off.

It's difficult but nothing a team of guys can't take care of!!!

Singletary has a great deal of swag to him in that defensive room. That alone makes the addition a good one. He's gonna help this team, just hope him and Williams can co-exist as both are Type A personalities. Given that, it's gonna pay off for this group.

Its clear as F, he won't be a NFL coach, that much I do know...As a coaching piece to our puzzle its an hell of an get!!! Should be a great help for Tree

Always liked his fire. I have no problem with this hire, and I am sure that gregg Williams is ok with this and thinks he is benificial.

Watch this before you comment on Singleterry not helping or benefiting us. Tell me after watching this video that when the 4th quarter comes in a grinding type of game or it gets late in the season or in a playoff game him on the sidelines would not benefit us... Emotional leader would help our D and especially Barron, Tree, and Ayers not to mention devolving our young Guys for a year...!

Singletary had a great reputation as a LB coach for a long time and was constantly talked about as a HC candidate... now was he a good HC - no, not really - but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he was considered a very good LB coach.

I love the idea of him coaching LBs but I also think there's something to be said for too many cooks in the kitchen. Rams must be paying a small fortune for the coaching staff right now.

Too many cocks in the hen house was the only issue I can think of that might backfire. I will give the benefit of the doubt that Fisher spoke with G.Williams and LB coach Frank Bush both giving a thumbs up to bring him aboard.
