Why? This is the part that needed the explanation. But instead all we get is McVay speaking his usual nonsense.

Poor time-out usage. Poor personnel selection. Questionable play-calling. Too pass-happy in key moments. It's all classic McVacy. And I like McVay. There are only a handful of other coaches I'd take over McVay (sadly, Kyle Shanahan is one of them), so I don't want a coaching change. I don't think we'd have an easy time finding an update. But McVacy does have some serious flaws to him, too. I think he is overrated around the NFL.

Henderson got going in the second half a bit, maybe dictated by the defense.
Would like to see the three back mix really switched to a two back mix.
If that means working extra to get the young guys up to speed with pass blocking assignments so be it.

Totally agree with this. Brown is a good short yardage guy but he is a punt machine as a 3rd down option. He doesn't have the open field ability to break tackles or make a move for critical first downs.

Compare Niners 3rd down strategy to ours. Brown vs Kittle. It's night and day. One guy catches it short of the first down and makes two guys miss easily to convert. The other guy can't do a dam thing.

I love Mcvay as our coach but surely he is smart enough to see this, I said it a few weeks ago. Brown doesn't have open field ability and it kills drives. Akers needs to be in there.

Where are the jet sweeps

Where are the fake jet sweeps

Where are the roll outs

Where is the speed up offense

Then the drive late in the second quarter had all those things except for a roll out - and guess what we got a touchdown.

Not sure why McVay had a mind fart play calling in this game.

He has a game like this from time to time where he goes against his strengths.

And how many times do our receivers drop 3 balls in a game - two of them for TDs - almost never

Just bad game all around

We had First and goal on the 8.... Henderson gained 7 years... then he went -1.... so its 3rd and 2 from the 2....

McVay calls a play that works easily and Kupp drops the ball....now its 4th down.
