Great start to this weekend! I was so depressed about the possibility of us being irrelevant again lol.

This seems as good a thread as any:

My very first post here at ROD! I'd like to thank my parents, the Academy and all those who have supported me on the long journey...

So, it seems our hero returns. This is good news...such good news. IMHO, this means that they don't see this as a "rebuild" but rather a "retool". Jourdan has been hinting at drastic changes coming this offseason, so I'm assuming a big name or 2 will be both coming to and leaving the Rams.

KK for offensive coordinator is a distant distant second for me. He needs someone with balls someone who has proven it by playing and coaching not scheming around a big face twerp maybe someone that would call him out. I often thought mcvay put weaker or someone who was below him or significantly below him d all so he could impose his will and rather than delegate control everything. So my choice by far is Frank Reich he did it with nick foles Carson Wentz and other than Taylor indy had no legit weapons even with the obvious mcvay input I think Reich would really utilizes everything in this offense and add some diversity run at the right times more consistently and maybe lay off the 37 bubble screens a game. Also utilize the backs as receivers

Please let it be Reich and not just a yes man

I'm definitely glad McVay is still our coach. I think we have enough of a core to be a solid playoff team as long as we don't have the worst luck ever with injuries again. Guys like Akers and Jefferson were playing very well at the end. That bodes well for Stafford and the passing game not to be stuck on throwing everything to Kupp.

But I can't say I'm confident McVay will be our coach in 2024 or 2025. If he's been considering it since last season, I'm thinking he's not a Belichek, Tomlin, Carroll type who stays with the same team for a decade or two. If he plans on leaving in the next year or two the coordinators he hires should be someone he can groom to be a head coach.

If Morris can now land a HC job this off season is already a success!!! (Unfortunately,I don't see that happening though)
If he does we are a playoff team.

The franchise was able to stay in the headlines though.

Not gonna say I told anybody so.
Its not bragging when you are telling the truth.

Sure wasn't going to end my world if he left. And pleased he is staying.

I love McVay and was thinking more of him and his legacy that few ever get this chance. Anytime, anywhere.

Being in LA the Rams will always be able to attract choice talent.

The Rams just took a huge step forward in 2023.

Next, I see Mayfield signing a one or two year contract. Even if he doesn't start as a Ram he would be incredible trade bait in 2024. But I still think this is Stafford's last one or two years. That's why I think Mayfield is a key piece in the long run. Those who think he isn't a starter must go back and critically evaluate what Mayfield showed in the context of who he was playing with, i.e. makeshift OL and only starting WR. Even Stafford could not have done much better. Also, remembering how many on this board wrote Goff off prematurely when given a complimentary scheme he blossomed into a top 10 QB this season. Baker and Jared share many similarities. The real difference between them is Mayfield is a much better fit for McVay and Sean is genuinely excited about Mayfield.

I've always have been a big proponent of most of the guys on this OL. There is talent enough to be a very good OL, probably a top 10 unit. Health is the only limiting factor. If Thomas and Bruss pan out then that will go a long way in solving that problem.

Akers, is back to form and Williams looks to have justified his draft pick. They just need a #3 RB which they can draft this year.

WR room is stacked no real changes are needed. With the emergence of Tutu, it makes this a make or break year for Robinson.

Defensively they really need an edge (either draft or trade) and a dominant force in the interior DL to replace Donald after this year. Buckner is still IMO the best candidate they could potentially grab. They need to let Hill and Long walk. Morris needs to start Durant and Rochell. Rapp is gone and they need to re-sign Scott. Lake looks like an able replacement for Rapp. Kendrick and Yeast look like backups for one year at least. Kendrick is a bust IMO simply because of his attitude, i.e. he's not a 100% effort guy.

What I'm saying now that they have McVay back, this team can re-load in one season. There is no need to rebuild.
