The only difference between Mahomes and Allen, is the defense their teams have. Actually Allen has way more on his shoulders than Mahomes.
Then consider the weight riding on Stafford's shoulders. If he could run he would be at the top. Or maybe if we made a field goal and didn't fumble the winning TD.

Actually, best case scenario: Stafford plays in 2026 AND we draft a future QB to sit & watch under him.
I don't wanna even think about worst case scenarios lol.
But to the OP: if he keeps ascending, and the others average out, I think he's got a shot at either this or NFC OPOY.

Yeah.. that is a good scenario. And.. if they don’t see a QB they want? Maybe they parlay one 1st into future draft picks.

Mahomey is having a bounce back year so far. Have to give credit where it’s due. He was easily the best in the league not too long ago. Got beat up, got tired. He looks rejuvenated this year IMO.
 
Allen as 2nd favorite for MVP? Hmm....idk about that one.

Unfortunately, Stafford is unlikely to win due to playing on the west coast and Mahomes.

He does deserve major consideration though.

If the voting was done today, I truly believe he would win it. I think those odds are more so reflecting what to expect, and given Mahomes and the Chiefs trajectory I agree with them. I think the Bills are broken and while Maye has played well, I see that regressing (and he shouldn't be over Staff right now anyways)

Sometimes Stafford disappears for a quarter or two. Though he played extremely well last weekend, it was the only game this season he played all four quarters. If Stafford were to put a string of games together like he did last Sunday, then there would be a good argument for MVP.

Not only that but he's 5 of 5 on 4th down for 92 yards, 5 first downs, 2 TDs, 158.3 QB Rating and he's been sacked once!!!

In the 2nd half this season, he's 83 of 118 for 1043 yds, 11 TD 0 Int for a QB rating of 128.6!!!

Dude is playing lights out when it matter most.

Best post on the matter, so far.
Mayfield owes his left nut to McVay for giving him an opportunity to resurrect his dead ass career.
He stepped up and made something of himself with Sean's guidance, so credit to him for putting in the work.
But for him, who hasn't done dick in comparison, to be ranked higher than MS9 in ANY fashion is a DOA topic to me.

I think Stafford is playing very good football right now.......... but........ and yes I know this is fantasy land but I think most would do this in a heart beat.

If I was in charge of Ram player personnel and I got a call from the Chiefs and they wanted to trade Mahomes for Stafford today, I would do it in a millisecond. And as soon as I got off the phone I would have Stafford's Locker cleaned out and have Mahomes name and number on Stafford's ex-locker and tell Konata Mumpfield to pick a new jersey number.... then I would call back and ask the Chiefs if they want Higbee and Atwell for Travis Kelce and I would offer to eat both Higbee's and Atwells payroll..... The Rams would instantly blow up.... No more dealing with Sofi take overs... well other than the screaming Swifties. lol .... And we would get three more trophies in the next 5 years.
