Good day fellow Rams and Rammettes!

I was just looking at the MVP odds on Vegas Insider, and it's great to see our guy getting some respect. Stafford is currently the 5th most likely player to win the award, with odds between +1000 and +1300.

Here's how the top of the list looks with their consensus odds:
Patrick Mahomes: +137
Josh Allen: +372
Baker Mayfield: +705
Drake Maye: +750
Matthew Stafford: +1140
Jared Goff: +1960

I know it's a long shot, but he has been playing lights out. Honestly, the only reason he isn't higher is because the others are the media darlings of the league right now.

This got me thinking about the bigger picture: the Hall of Fame. An MVP award is a massive resume-builder. We've all heard the talk that Stafford needs another Super Bowl to make it to Canton.

So here's the question for everyone: What does Stafford need to punch his ticket? Would a league MVP be enough? Is it even better than a second Super Bowl ring? Or are they both unnecessary if he just keeps climbing the record books?

Let's look at the stats. He's currently 9th on the all-time passing yards list and is only 2,547 yards behind Aaron Rodgers for the #5 spot. Over his career, Stafford has averaged 4,368 yards in seasons where he starts more than 10 games.

If he just finishes this season at his average pace, he will likely end the year at #6 all-time. From there, he'd need about two more healthy seasons to pass legends like Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

To me, he becomes an absolute LOCK for the Hall of Fame in any of these scenarios:
He plays two more seasons and passes Manning and Favre on the all-time passing list.
He wins either a Super Bowl OR the league MVP this season or next.

Even if none of that happens, I think his case is still incredibly strong. He'll likely retire with the 6th most passing yards ever, and thankfully, the media doesn't get a vote. The players in this league knew who Matthew Stafford was LONG before the talking heads caught up.

What do you all think? For now, I'm just going to keep pinching myself. We get to watch the Stafford-McVay duo every week, and as long as they're together, we're a threat to win it all.

WHOSE HOUSE?!

after last nights game with the lions, it's literally a joke that baker mayfield is in the conversation...

dude couldn't hold staffords jockstrap...

go rams

I tend to disagree a little. It’s a different situation & The Rams are better off.Mattew Stafford sort of had a Prime Time game.If your from the East Coast you might agree a little more ?
I guess I’m not giving Stafford enough credit. He is Leading this 2025 team, but what I’ll also say is I still like The Rams depth at QB.

The game just ended last night, and Baker was playing well beforehand and had some crazy game-winning drives. The MVP favorites will adjust this week.

Stafford should move up, and Baker and Darnold should move down.

I don't know about MVP, although he's certainly playing at a level to be considered..

But he's cementing his HOF case with this season, imo.

Also... If this keeps up, it will make the Rams QB strategy next year VERY interesting.

Not too concerned about this, as I want him to get his second Lombardi over everything else. Him being angry going into the Super Bowl is probably ideal for that. :laugh2:

He can't do the running thing so unless he throws for over 40 TDs and we get first seed it will never happen. Oh yeah, and when he makes the game winning drive the KICKING GAME CAN'T LOOSE IT.

Top 5 passing yards per game, top 5 Passer rating, leading league in TD passes & tied for division/conference lead in team wins
Yup, that's a resume for an MVP

Is Mahomes at the top just because he’s Mahomes? Stafford is the best QB in the league right now. Nobody does as much as him. So the odds are dumb.

Im dont care much for MVP talk...just a personal thing. But as for HOF, I think he is already in. He could walk away today, I would imagine he would be in.

3rd in passing yards, 17 TDs 2 Int, and on a 5-2 teams sounds like MVP type numbers to me.

I think Stafford would need one more Super Bowl to ice the HOF..... His win loss record was pretty bad in Detroit.... If he hadn't join the Rams I don't think anyone would be talking about Stafford IMO

Fair point and agree if he stayed in Detroit we might not be having this conversation. 61K passing yards would be hard to ignore. Going to be really interesting to see if Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger and Phillip Rivers get in. When you look at the top 10 career passers they are all modern day QBs....Marino may still be hanging on to the top 10 at the moment though.
