Stafford threw away all of his leverage in contract negotiations but he just couldn't throw away the chance to be a badass when the moment presented itself. That's my quarterback!!
I think Stafford and the Rams organization have an agreement as far as money goes. He might be willing to not need as much money if the team is spending it on pieces to get him another ring.

Yeah, he would disappoint me if he demanded like $55M a yr now. Winning has got to be more important at this point than an extra $7.5M, because after taxes that's what a $15M raise will get him.

Could be why Les said if Stafford is coming back their strategy may lean more towards the present than the future. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the understanding Stafford extracted instead of a huge bump in pay.
