Wonder if he was drugged while at the bar? Report said he was seen doing "wind sprints" in the alley way before the incident occurred. 1230 is late to some, but its pretty early if your going out for the night and pretty early to be so drunk you're that out of your mind.

Never heard stories or reports of Sanchez getting out of hand from alcohol or being known to going out and partying til he's uncontrollable. Behavior like this is not typically hidden for as long as he has been in the spotlight.

What happened?

The stabbing occurred early on October 4 in downtown Indianapolis (around 12:30 a.m. local time) near an alley behind Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery, close to West Washington Street and Senate Avenue.

The police described it initially as a “physical disturbance” between two men.

One man (Sanchez) was injured with stab wounds; the other sustained lacerations.

According to some reports, the altercation stemmed from a dispute over parking, with the other man being a food delivery or service‐truck operator.

The other individual allegedly tried to use pepper spray and claimed self-defense in response to Sanchez’s aggression.

Some local reports also allege that Sanchez had been acting erratically (e.g. doing sprints) just before the altercation.

I don’t get the love for his announcing abilities. He always tried to come up with “funny” metaphors and similes that were either just lame or made no sense at all. I couldn’t stand listening to him except to laugh and say WTF?

I’m not saying this because I wish ill will on the guy. I just don’t get the love.

All that said, it sure sounds like Sanchez was pretty whacked out. But the whole story sounds kinda whack. What deliveries happen at 12:30am. Is this area so busy that this is normal? I’ve been in the industry for most of my life and I’ve never had deliveries at that time of night. Of course I’ve never worked in a hot clubbing area.

You know any white women? What do they use when they’re vengeful? Something with macaroni salad?
I know a white woman, she got slapped around by her man.
She rubbed poison oak in the crotch of his shorts.
His nuts swelled up as big as lemons I was told. He was a prick, she was just as bad.
Glad they moved away.

Me too. My wife said when I got drunk at a party I'd be like the puppy dog you take off the leash at a dog park. Wanting to make friends with everyone.
same here.. just started humping legs !!!

Totally agree, I thought he was an awful announcer. To me he seems more concerned with getting his prepared jokes/info out then letting the game tell the story
AS for the incident, I'll hold judgement until we hear all the info

Exactly. I don’t know how many times my son and I made the comment, “I wonder how long he was waiting to use that stupid line”.

I’ll just go ahead and admit it. I was always dismayed at the Sanchez hype. I remember the gum chewer (his coach) saying he needed another year at least at USC. He was probably right but I thought that would have actually resulted in him dropping in the next year’s draft. I think I’m right there. I never thought much of him.

Palmer was the rare USC QB of that era (if you will) that had NFL QB skills. There was always a big hype around USC QBs but USC always pulled some of the best skill players in the country. Life was good as a Trojan QB.

Shit. Pat Hayden might have been one of the more successful USC QBs outside of Palmer. I suppose Darnold has been playing well of late. I liked Rodney Pete. But if there’s a definition of overrated, it’s USC QBs and I grew up a USC fan.

Sanchez has always been overrated to me and that includes his broadcasting career.

Agree that SC always has 5 stars in fact they have 2 of them sitting behind their starter right now.
I also hear your comments regarding skill position talent around them.

It's a tough position to compare college - NFL success at.
I guess Purdue is often considered #1 with Notre Dame and Stanford up there also but I think SC is top 5 too
The usual metric is passing yards by college QB's in the Pro's.
I am sure guys like Brady etc single handedly have impacted things like TD's by college - Pro qb's

Barkley, Johnson, Evans all were decent
Caleb gets a lot of hate but is somewhat quietly having a nice sophomore season so far.

I get it. Once I moved to Oregon I started becoming a UofO fan. It got cemented when my son went to UofO. But I’m still somewhat of a USC fan. UCLA (USC’s red headed step brother) has produced some pretty good QBs.

It just always seems the PAC has had such QB hype and little results in the NFL.

I didn’t think much of Caleb either but his ceiling is still pretty high if he gets the right coach and team around him.

As to Sanchez? WAY overrated IMO.

Agreed, in fact I wrongly thought Leinart was going to be the better pro lol

I hope Oregon finally gets their Natty they sure have had a great run.

Last thing I will say about colleges and QB's is it is few and far between for most schools which is why you can pick almost any college and say hey they just don't produce enough NFL qb's

Sanchez attacked a 69 year old truck driver doing his job. That’s not a big city problem it’s a drunk sportscaster from CBS problem.
yeah.. the details came out after Jacobarch posted
