Before the season they were talking about a 120 win team. Anything less that a championship was considered a disappointment for this roster. That's a lot of pressure on those guys.

Age doesn't affect baseball players as much as football when a guy hits 30. But 8 of the 9 guys in the lineup range between 30 and 36. Only two of the Blue Jays starters are over 30. One since Springer went down.

You have to wonder if maybe the season isn't just a tad too long for them. They look tired. Almost like they're ready for the season to end.

Im curious did the Blue Jays look tired in the 18 Inning game 3 Marathon they lost??

Narratives can change pretty quick in the post-season. Win game 6 and then the pressure shifts back to Toronto....

I remember the pundits saying how much that game took out of the Blue Jays. How tired they would be in game 4. It was the Dodgers that looked tired. Last night their body language did not look like a team with energy. The younger Blue Jay team looked more like that. If the offense doesn't snap out of it it won't matter how well the pitchers do. 13 runs in the series. 2.6 runs per game. Less if you consider one game had the same innings as two games. That won't win many games.

A day off after that marathon can do wonders.

My money is still the Dodgers.

Favored tomorrow night. And game 7 brings experience to that pressure.

The Dodgers are the reigning champions, favoured in every game of this post season, and a team made up of every All Star money can buy thanks to the lack of a cap.

If you listened to biased American sports media, many of whom clearly hadn't watched a single inning of Blue Jays baseball all year, and if you listened to Dodgers fans who also hadn't watched a single inning of Blue Jays baseball all year, this World Series was going to be a cakewalk for the Dodgers, an easy sweep.

All the expectations in the world have been on the Dodgers to win the World Series from the start of this season. The Blue Jays finished last in the AL East in 2024.

Like I said, the pressure has been on the Dodgers from the first pitch of the season, not the Blue Jays. And that pressure is still there heading into Game Six.

I would think with 2 games left at the most, tired or not, I could find the energy to compete. I expect the Dodgers to play like defending champions and give Toronto everything.they can. Anything less would be disappointing.
 
Narratives change QUICK in the postseason.

The Heart of a Champion emerges TONIGHT and then all Hands on Deck tomorrow.
 
Hopefully Yamamoto will have one of his stellar games and the Dodgers can manage to score 2 or 3 runs. What I like about Yamamoto and the Japanese player culture is their willingness to go the extra mile. Todays American players not so much.

In general todays American culture is to cry " it's not fair" ...... "they're cheating"....... "I'm not gonna risk myself".......

I can see Yamamoto if the Dodgers win game 6 make himself available for game 7.... Which is why you're going to see more Asian players in the MLB.

Well, the Blue Jays were 5th in salaries. So they spent their share. Its not always about the money. The Mets spent a couple million dollars more than the Dodgers this year and they didn't make the playoffs. Its also about the organization knowing how to find the right guys to build a good team. Even with that the best team doesn't always win. The Dodgers were 3rd in the NL.

One thing I do know, whatever happens today or tomorrow the Dodgers will always be in the mix every year because of their organization. 5 World Series appearances in the last decade. That is because of their organization and leadership. They've always had a solid minor league system.
