I think Noteboom earned himself a nice contract after this game. He's been solid when given the chance this year. In a perfect world, we win this Superbowl and let big Whit retire a champion, get Noteboom paid as our LT of the future.

Either way, will be fascinating how they approach resigning and putting together the OL for next season. I'm pro signing Noteboom despite my love for BigWhit. Father time never loses just sayin'

He played amazing and solidified his future as the LT. Love Big Whit and everything he stands for. Gave us a great 5 years and hope he comes back as a coach. But Noteboom's time is now.

Boom is capable but I think he's had durability issues or am I mistaken?
No constant injuries iirc. Allen blocked that guy into his knee in 2019, and this pec injury is new. It’s not like when Saffold went down every game, but he turned his career around and stopped getting injured so why can’t Boom?

Whit playing against his former team in the Super Bowl.

Yes, he is highly capable of being one of the better pass-blocking starting LT's in the NFL.

No, you are not mistaken.

Yes, you are correct on Notebooms durability issues.

When you have been on IR in 2019 as the starter, then IR again in 2020 as the starter, now again Noteboom has been involved in another injury issue going into the 2021 NFC Championship gm & the Superbowl game.

IMO Noteboom would have been placed on the IR after the Bucs game for the 3rd year in a row if Andrew Whitworth had not suffered an injury in the Wildcard Round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs. AW has been gippy with that same knee he injured last season but is now full to go as of today.

Noteboom's injury late in the Bucs gm forced the injured Andrew Whitworth to start in the NFC Championship game not being close to 100%. Very hard for me to deny Noteboom has not had durability issues the last 3 seasons.

The Only season out of his 4 that Joseph Noteboom did not have an injury issue was his rookie season when he only had a few snaps with the offense in place of Andrew Whitworth.

To conclude: I am a big Noteboom fan & I believe that his durability issues the last 3 years in a row will help keep the amount of NFL teams throwing supersize huge $$$ @ him in a month as a UFA. Maybe? More likely the Rams stand a very high possibility to be without both Andrew Whitworth & Joseph Noteboom when the 2022 season begins.

No one was more doubtful about Noteboom ability to play LT in the NFL. But, thankfully, he has proven me very wrong. The Rams will certainly lose something in the run game as Noteboom can't move people the way Whitworth can. But, his pass blocking has been excellent. Noteboom should be handed this job as. he has earned it.

His durability is my only concern as well.

Even with him missing time, I still believe he will have a few teams looking his way this offseason.

I doubt he will come cheap.

IF.....Noteboom is resigned??? OL coach Carberry should plan to get a very effective run blocker starting next to Noteboom @ LG. In order to improve the run blocking on that left side.

LG David Edwards has been the overall weakest of the 6 OL'ers starting this season. There may be a better run blocking LG on the roster already & by TC in July this might be something to watch. Alaric Jackson has been a very good run blocker in college. Rookie OL'er AJ has only been active for a total of 61 snaps & almost all of that was on the left side @ OT. AJ's stepping in at left tackle against the Vikings was a supersize surprise!

Might want to recall this from last years senior bowl:
NFL Draft Wire's Jacob Infante is on the scene in Mobile and has liked what he's seen from the former Iowa offensive lineman."I really like the power Jackson has brought to the table in drills so far," Infante said of Jackson. "He’s had quite a few instances of being able to not only hold his own at the point of attack, but he’s also done a good job of driving defenders into the dirt. Compared to the other offensive linemen in this Senior Bowl class, I feel like Jackson has been somewhere in the middle. He’s had some issues against speed rushers but has been able to hold his own against power rushes. He’s actually taken some reps at guard and has arguably looked better there than he has at tackle."

When OL Coach Carberry is trying to figure out the best replacement for departed RG Austin Corbett it's possible that David Edwards might return to start there as in the past. Leaving AJ on that left side to also provide backup for Noteboom.

i am not sure that ot is going to be our biggest problem it might be the inside ol. we will know more after we see how they handle the bungles inside dline. anyway the oline is going to need help. after all notebom is injury prone edward is playing worse than he did as a rookie and allen size might still be a problem. plus i don't expect much help from the draft but they always seem to come up with money for free agents(i don't know how). anyway i am learning to have faith in the rams management. oh well lets go to the big bowl and worry about the rest later.

My plan for the Offseason at LT:

  1. Resign Joe Noteboom...Boom has proven to be a quality LT, just has issues with durability, but is pass protection is 2nd to none and might even exceed Whitworth at this point of Whit's career.
  2. Draft OT Rasheed Walker out of Penn State...Need @Elmgrovegnome endorsement on this, I believe he could be there in the 3rd round and has the size at 6'6 320lbs plus he possess excellent footwork & agility and playing at Penn State, should be extraordinary from the neck up.
  3. More Strength & Conditioning for Alaric Jackson. Jackson showcased the ability when called upon against Arizona, he'll provide excellent depth and with Noteboom's liability being durability, Jackson might be called upon more than once.

I don’t know where Walker has been slotted. It may be too early to tell. He was the best linemen on a very bad Oline. So he may show up at the combine and perform really well. He was inconsistent at times for PSU but that could be contributed to the rest of the line to some degree. Just based on his play in college Id say a third round pick is accurate.

Resigning Noteboom is really going to be dependent on competition. If they think they can’t afford Joe then maybe the little they saw of Jackson will convince them to stick with the cheaper player. I think the Rams will definitely lose some Olinemen this winter. They are too tight against the cap and supposedly want to retain Miller.

1. I'm also going with re-signing Joe Noteboom, ... it seems kind of a no-brainer imo.

2. Two offensive linemen that may still be available where the Rams draft in the 3'rd round AND had good performances at this last weekends 2022 Senior Bowl were Boston College OG Zion Johnson and Georgia OT Jamaree Salyer who will likely become an NFL OG at the next level.

3. Swing OT Alaric Jackson makes me believe the Rams may show less interest in trying to draft a pure LT type in the upcoming draft as our needs are pointing more towards the interior.
