Samples also gone, headed for Arizona St next year as WR coach. That's 2 coaches gone with 4 games left in season. Doink! :fistbump1:

Yep. When a perennial contender underperforms heads roll. More to come.
Heads roll? Samples got a promotion in position. Seems like Coen is going to actually be an OC again and be in charge of his own offense which he was good at btw in college. Sounds like two guys advancing their careers not getting fired. Maybe I’m just too much of a glass half full guy.

Kentucky wanted Coen back really bad and IMO, Coen is better suited for college. Now, does McVay go internal with Greg Olson or perhaps Jay Gruden (who does hold a consulting title) or does he look elsewhere?

McVay seems close to Olson, who he gave a game ball to last night also possibly could be Cardinals Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury, however, I would expect Kingsbury would prefer to call plays.

Coen tanked in his OC look. Not all his fault due to the OL injuries but if you think he would be going back to college if McVay was happy with him you haven't been paying attention.

Greg didn't exactly kill it in his OC look with the Raiders. His area of expertise is protections for the QBs and he is exceptional with that. His departure hurt Goff and his pre-snap reads noticeably suffered after the Raiders took Greg for OC.

So I expect he won't be the OC.

That answers a ton of questions from the site.

Wish him the best. How many OC’s have been robbed from us in 5 years? It’s bound to get not a great one.

If Kingsbury gets canned I could see him being our OC next year.

IDK, Olson is not calling plays, so there is that. There might be somebody else around the NFL, I guess we will have to take a wait & see approach.

Gruden would ensure that they can run the ball. Might be a good addition and might take some workload off of McVay.

The biggest improvement they could make is overhauling the coaching staff with a focus on the offensive line and the run game.

The biggest disappointment last night to me was Havenstein's play. Sure he had a tough opponent, but he just seemed to retreat back to the QB on every pass blocking snap. Change it up a bit. Hit him first sometimes to knock him back. Have to believe the coaching can be better on the OL.

So get a proven run game coordinator and a proven OL coach. The most important coach on the Ragles staff is Jeff Stoutland. Has been a great OL coach who often is able to get back ups to step in and be effective when they are pressed into action.

Not true at all. He's an extremely sought after coach in SEC and they fired their OC weeks ago. If anything it was a weird move he left there in the 1st place
