Maybe they really are planning on moving AD primarily outside - starting this year.
I could see where they make every effort to maximize the team's only bonafide proven pass rusher. It may be best to move AD everywhere they can to get the best matchup.

DL coach Henderson will see what 3 tech DT Larrell Murchison & AD can do working together for the first time in TC. Having a legit 3 tech like DT Larrell Murchison can free up AD.

Bobby Brown now in his 3rd season appears to be our new starting NT. I think that Jonah Willians will be Brown's backup. Williams started all 3 preseason gms. last season @ NT.

Not entirely understanding the excitement over the Draft.

Right now, the Rams have two picks in the first 166 selections.

That ain’t much.
I expect trade backs and trade ups to get more picks in that top 140 or so. And of course a Ramsey trade will likely get them a pick in the top 40 and maybe two in the top 120.

Rams officially release Leonard Floyd, seven others

CHAREAN WILLIAMS
Fri, Mar 10, 2023, 2:00 PM PST1 min read

The Rams made outside linebacker Leonard Floyd‘s release official. They announced they released Floyd on Friday along with seven others.
The team also waived tight end Roger Carter, defensive back T.J. Carter, receiver J.J. Koski, tight end Jared Pinkney, receiver Jaquarii Roberson, receiver Jerreth Sterns and defensive end Brayden Thomas.
Floyd, 30, spent three seasons in Los Angeles. He made 29 tackles, 59 quarterback hits and 184 tackles in 50 games. He had at least nine sacks in each of those three seasons, highlighted by a career-high 10.5 in his first season with the Rams in 2020.
In 2022, he started all 17 games and totaled a team-high nine sacks, plus 59 total tackles. Floyd had 9.5 sacks, a career-high 70 total tackles and an interception in 17 games in 2021 while helping the Rams win Super Bowl LVI.
It is unclear whether the Rams are using the post-June 1 designation on Floyd. They will take a $19 million cap hit in dead money with only $3 million in cap savings if they don’t.
A post-June 1 designation would save the Rams $15.5 million in cap space with a $6.5 million dead cap hit in 2023.

The Bears and Seahawks each have eight selections in the top-160 ... UGH!
Lions have 5 in the top 80, including #6 from the Rams and their own #16. That's an incredible opportunity to stack the roster, probably starting with a top edge and a top corner. All three teams sitting in the catbird seat.

Its a common mistake people make when they confuse a restructure with a renegotiated contract. Teams can restructure a contract without player approval to make cap space as long as it doesnt add years or change the total dollar amount. The player makes out as they'll get money up front in the form of a signing bonus, performance bonus etc
When they renegotiate the contract, adding void years or cutting salary etc, the player has to approve
