Source: WR Cooper Kupp to join Seahawks on 3-year deal

Former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp has reached agreement on a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday.
Kupp was released by the Los Angeles Rams at the start of the new league year Wednesday, ending his eight-season run with the team.
He joined the Rams as a third-round pick in 2017 out of Eastern Washington, as part of Sean McVay's first draft class, and emerged as one of the game's best pass-catchers from the slot in the years since.
He had 62 receptions as a rookie, then topped 90 in both his third and fourth seasons.
But his best season came in 2021, when he won the receiving triple crown by leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). He made his only Pro Bowl and was named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year.
Kupp capped that season with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals, which earned him the game's MVP award.
After the season, Kupp signed a three-year contract extension worth $80.1 million.
But Kupp has dealt with injuries in the three seasons since, playing in just 33 games. In 12 games during the 2024 season, Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns.
After the season, Kupp announced that the Rams were trying to trade him despite his desire to remain with the team. But with him being owed $20 million this season, no other team was willing to make a trade, leading to his release.
For his career, Kupp has 634 receptions for 7,776 receiving yards and 58 total touchdowns (57 receiving).
ESPN's Sarah Barshop contributed to this report.

It's time to get over this, guys.

Kupp will make some plays, sure. And he'll be a great mentor to the young WRs there.

BUT, he can't get open anymore against man coverage, and he's too slow to be making the kind of money he wanted.

Rams offense will be better off without him this year. More speed, and more explosive plays. The plodding stuff was getting old, and it's time to move on.

Thanks for the 2021 season, we will never forget that, but what have you done for me lately.

As I agree with you this is a dangerous post and babies will take offense to it.

Reality is if we draft a top end CB and put him on Kupp he’s x’d out these 6 games in 3 years.

He’ll be more valuable as a tutor to their new crop of WR’s and to implement a culture there. Let’s hope they pick busts.

Witherspoon could neutralize him, and he's not even that great of a CB.
(has he been resigned yet?)

I'm critical of McVay at times, and deservedly so.
But if he thinks it's time to move on from Kupp, then I agree with him on that one.

No not yet. I hope they do tbh.. he’s more than deserved it on at least another 1 year extension. He can take Darion Kendricks spot.

I for the life of me can’t understand why there is a growing faction who want to cut Williams.

We need 3-4 legit CB’s for the long season.

Witherspoon would probably get smoked lol, but it would be an interesting battle. I still think Kupp has it but he's been injury prone and not as consistent. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he has a mini resurgence. With that said, our WR core ain't too shabby either therefore we should handle business in the division as long as we keep the Soul Snatcher upright lol besides Verse ain't letting Darnold have time to get comfortable anyways, pancake city!

From the choice Kupp made it’s clear that winning is not a priority to him.

Not sure that's fair. His options didnt seem all that great, New Orleans, Seattle and Dallas seemed to be the pursuers

I'm not even acknowledging that this happened. I will pretend he's some other white dude when we play them two time each season. And in a couple of years when he retires I will consider him retiring a Ram.

I don't think Kupp will ever be a player for whom winning is not a priority. But opportunity to play is going to be foremost in his mind because he has that deep belief in himself and his ability.

At some point he's going to suffer what happens to all players in that the league will spit him out. But I don't think he's going to go out like Donald did, anticipating that and wanting to avoid it. He strikes me as more of the guy who will squeeze as much playing time out of the league as he can and there's nothing wrong with that.

It's just unfortunate he chose a division rival because I can't fully wish him all the best there. But he'll remain one of my favorite Rams ever and this will be like Bruce, with whom I was livid when he played for SF but he was great enough in horns to where I had no choice but to forgive him for it.
