Source: WR Cooper Kupp to join Seahawks on 3-year deal

Former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp has reached agreement on a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday.
Kupp was released by the Los Angeles Rams at the start of the new league year Wednesday, ending his eight-season run with the team.
He joined the Rams as a third-round pick in 2017 out of Eastern Washington, as part of Sean McVay's first draft class, and emerged as one of the game's best pass-catchers from the slot in the years since.
He had 62 receptions as a rookie, then topped 90 in both his third and fourth seasons.
But his best season came in 2021, when he won the receiving triple crown by leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16). He made his only Pro Bowl and was named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year.
Kupp capped that season with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals, which earned him the game's MVP award.
After the season, Kupp signed a three-year contract extension worth $80.1 million.
But Kupp has dealt with injuries in the three seasons since, playing in just 33 games. In 12 games during the 2024 season, Kupp had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns.
After the season, Kupp announced that the Rams were trying to trade him despite his desire to remain with the team. But with him being owed $20 million this season, no other team was willing to make a trade, leading to his release.
For his career, Kupp has 634 receptions for 7,776 receiving yards and 58 total touchdowns (57 receiving).
ESPN's Sarah Barshop contributed to this report.

Well, I will miss him, but hopefully Verse doesn't when Kupp catches one of those WR screens and Verse rips his head off.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has had a lot of success in the slot. I wonder if he'll be as effective line up out wide.
This.

Not sure how this is gonna work, I see Kupp at this stage in his career as an Allen Robinson big slot that runs seams and fades and some crossers though probably better and sitting down against zone coverage. I don't see him winning well from the outside which he could do years ago.

I hate to say this, but I think this ends up being a good move... for the Rams.

I'll respect everyone's opinion on Kupp.

I dont' hate that he's with Seattle. The Rams are a far superior team to Seattle. I'll root for him, he's one of the main reasons the Rams have another Super Bowl. On my personal list of all time favorite Rams. Along with Bruce, Faulk, Slater, Youngblood, Pace, Warner, S Jackson, and others.

End of the day, it's a game within a business.

Just like when Ike went to the niners, I will no longer be rooting for Kupp. I know the Rams cut him but, he had other options than to get in bed with the enemy. And, no Seattle was not his home.
Well, that may be true - but what other NFL teams are closer to Yakima?? Or Idaho, or Oregon? It's a small list... :woozy2:

At least, Cooper Kupp did not sign with the 69ers. I’d be pissed if he did. The Seahawks are in rebuild mode and a few years left before CK will retire.

To me, it definitely shows there is bitterness there on his part. Can't say that didn't factor in at all. Lost just a little respect for him on that one, but he'll get it back once he finishes his shit contract with that shit team lol
Sounds like it was his best offer and he gets to stay where he grew up. I’d prefer it wasn’t an NFC West team but I get it. This is likely his last contract.

Maybe, he is a couple hours from home (where he grew up) and close to where he went to school. It could be as simple as that
