We are on a budget so...

Put Donald in a room with Durant, Kendrick and Maher and have him smack the shit out of them all.

Then put them back out there next week and see their play improves or if they want to go back into the Donald room.

Just make sure you frisk Kendrick for concealed gun first.

If were blamming a K or the refs for a loss / losing season, there are far bigger problems afoot.

Losses can be due to Kickers or Refs when playing a good team.

But losing seasons yea, bigger problems.

Need some more pass rushers and CB1/2. For starters.

But York and Badgley are on other teams, right?

Succop's career stats look decent. At 37 he's another vet option to Gould.
They're on practice squads. We can sign either.
Personally York is the only one intriguing to me.
Badgley made 85.7% of his FGs (24/28) and 100% of his PATs (33/33) last year. Is that FG% elite? No. But it's better than Maher's 73.9% FG% this year. Maher has a huge leg, but he's an erratic mess.

And not very good. There's a reason he's been on 3 teams in 5 years and out of the league since 2021 when he didn't even play a full season. Is he an upgrade? I didn't like the Maher signing when it happened so I'm not defending him but is Gonzalez an upgrade?
Let's be fair here, he was hurt in 2022, before that, he was 20 of 22 on field goal attempts and 22 of 23 on extra point tries in 12 games for the Panthers in 2021. In a six-year career with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Panthers, Gonzalez is 91 of 113 (80.5%) on field goal attempts and 127 of 134 (94.8%) on extra point tries.

Granted there are other options, but before the injury Gonzalez was coming of his best year kicking for Chase Blackburn, who is now special teams coach for the Rams. IMO, he is far more consistent then Maher and if healthy, at 28 could be a solution for more then one year.

Cade York was the guy I was hoping for before the Rams signed Maher.

I guess I am looking for "Lightning in a Bottle" ... like Matt Gay was for the Rams.

There are some factual similarities between York and Gay. Both were drafted place-kickers (York in the 4th and Gay in the 5th), with strong legs. The teams that selected them (Cleveland and Tampa) did not stick with them beyond their rookie season, as neither was reliable enough on FGAs between 30-49 yards when teams want a guy to be almost automatic.

Gay was 16-of-21 from 30-49 yards as a rookie ... York was an almost identical 15-of-20.
Both missed multiple extra points; and both showed a strong leg ...Gay 5-of-8 and York 4-of-7 beyond 50.

I think Maher is what he is. Strong leg but can be way-off for a stretch; and Badgley is good but not special.

Plus, Cade York is kind of a cool name; and (in some photos) he has a 1970s Porn-Star / @Loyal mustache.

The Los Angeles Rams could be making a change at kicker following Brett Maher’s three misses against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Maher missed from 51 and 53 yards, and also yanked an extra-point attempt way left, leaving seven points on the board and helping set up the Steelers with great field position.

Sean McVay said after the game that the Rams would look at his performance and admitted Maher has “got to be better,” which no one would argue against. On Monday, McVay added that it’s possible the Rams will bring in kickers to further evaluate the position this week.

“There’s a possibility,” he said. “I talked to Chase (Blackburn) and Jeremy Springer earlier and I’ll talk to Les (Snead) after this. You want to evaluate the landscape, see what that looks like. Brett’s been pretty consistent throughout his career. He’s had some long attempts that are difficult kicks to be able to make that we’ve missed. You obviously want to be able to hit the extra point, but those will be things that we could possibly look into.”

Maher has attempted the most field goals of any kicker in the league this season (23), and he’s also made the most (17). But after going 1-for-3 on Sunday, and also missing a PAT, the Rams are considering a change.

No one expects a kicker to make all of his 50-plus yarders, but Maher has struggled as of late and six misses from any range in the first seven weeks isn’t a great trend.

Don't forget, Gay had been dumped by Tampa Bay and no one was really looking at him becoming what he did. Kickers are fickle......you just never know what is going on in their heads when they are bad.

FWIW, let's not rule out Kicker Lucas Havrisik, who is currently on the Cleveland Browns Practice Squad and worked with Assistant Special Teams Coach Jeremy Springer when they were at Arizona.

During a shortened 2020 season in Arizona, kicker Lucas Havrisik converted 90% of his field goal attempts.

It will be interesting to see if they go with youth or sign another veteran. I do believe that Zane Gonzalez with be brought in along with maybe York & Havrisik for a look. Not sure if they can do that with players on practice squads.

If you want him gone who are we signing? Bubba's the only one to suggest somebody so far.
That’s the big question.

You can’t just show someone the door without have a better replacement.

We saw 2 fairly good kickers last night that struggled.

Kicking issues are very frustrating.
We have been spoiled by having hood kickers now, for many years.

I would like to see someone more consistent, but seriously, who?
