You already know i agree with you here. Cowboys should have added blue chip defensive talent at #4 or traded down a bit. Zeke will probably be a pretty good back, but it doesn't really make them better overall as a team when you can stick just about anyone behind that OLine right now. Ramsey would have been my choice, then go draft Henry in the 2nd rd or whomever later. RB was a low priority from my POV.

but how much better do we feel that the rams took gurley last season?

Sure, but don't you think the Rams and Cowboys were/are in completely different circumstances in terms of roster strength and desperation?
Cowboys are forever in WIN NOW mode, Rams are on the 5 year rebuilding plan. Cowboys' strength is at QB, WR and OLIne. Their weaknesses are on defense.

I mean these teams are almost polar opposites of each other going into the 2014 season and even now somewhat.

i think their rationale is that they want to sustain drives and help the d out by keeping them off the field. and according to reports, if you want to believe them, the cowboys d coaches signed off on picking double e because they understood how he could help their d.

.

Yeah we'll see how it all plays out.

I have a feeling people all over the state of Texas get fired if they don't sign off on Jerry's proposals

Lol. Stephen said it wasn't worth what we'd give up. He gives me hope. Jerry can't die soon enough.

If he becomes a franchise QB, Stephen will end up being wrong.

The Cowboys were 5th in the league in YPC last season. 9th in total rushing. Their rushing game was NOT the problem. A broken QB and a crappy defense were the problems.

The Rams don't/didn't have the o-line that the Cowboys have/had
Tre Mason ran for 700+ yards in 12 games
Darren McFadden ran for 1000+ in 10-12 games and the upgrade just doesn't seem as necessary

But still, your point is valid. With that line Elliot could blow up in his rookie year and if he puts up 1200-1400 yards and 10 td's the pick will look brilliant

They were 5th in passing yards allowed per game. Conversely, they were 31st in points per game scored.

Seems like offense was the way to go, especially when history suggests McFadden will not play in 16 games this year.

He should regret it. Dak is a career backup imo. I think Lynch will be a franchise QB and the dude landed in the perfect spot. The AFC should be pissed at Dallas. Denver was screwed with their QB situation and they just lucked into a franchise QB.
I'm still in shock the Jets didn't take him! I was certain he didn't make it past them at 19.

True, but McFadden still was never a difference maker. Even Murray was NEVER a homerun hitter. Also, we didn't lose to Green Bay because of the Dez "catch". We lost because Murray fumbled a would-be TD. Elliott hasn't fumbled in 35 games, and is a HR hitter. With that said, Ramsey probably is the better pick long-term.

I like them getting EE. They might have been able to trade down. JJ. should have gotten Lynch if that's who he wanted. You got all that time to plan it out and you screw it up. No excuse.

Maybe Jeruh just read Dak's quote from 2012.
